Delete My Love for You novel Chapter 182

“There are only two things I regret in this life. If I could just accomplish this one, I could die without a single regret.”

After leaving the hospital, Darren didn’t return to the Harrington family estate. Instead, he headed straight for his office downtown.

His assistant had followed orders and compiled a dossier detailing Charlotte’s movements over the past week, along with a thick stack of photographs now waiting on his desk.

In one photo, Bradley stood in the rain, holding an umbrella over Charlotte’s head—so far tilted in her favor that his own shoulder was soaked through.

Another showed Bradley crouched on the ground, carefully putting shoes on Charlotte’s feet as she sat quietly in her wheelchair.

There were images from the press conference, too, where Bradley publicly named her as the lead for the artificial heart research team, giving her charge over the hospital’s bid for the next-generation project with the world’s top medical center.

On stage, Bradley leaned in, gently tucking a stray lock of hair behind her ear.

With a sharp snap, Darren slammed the dossier shut and strode out of his office, saying nothing, wandering the city streets with no destination in mind.

He passed a stylish American bistro, the kind with warm lighting and floor-to-ceiling windows. Through the glass, he caught a glimpse of a picture-perfect scene: a family of three sharing a meal together.

Bradley was holding a small silver fork, offering Charlotte a bite-sized piece of steak. She turned her head slightly, accepting the food with effortless familiarity.

There were no reporters around, no outsiders watching. Bradley didn’t need to put on a show.

Darren watched, helpless, as their relationship seemed to grow closer and more natural in just a single week. The ache in his chest was silent but relentless.

What tormented him most was that he couldn’t recall a single memory of quietly sharing a meal with Charlotte—nothing, not one peaceful moment.

He realized, suddenly, that back at home, he’d never even allowed Charlotte to sit at the same table with him. Every time she cooked, she’d eat alone, standing at the little counter in the kitchen with her bowl.

Out in the world, he’d never brought her to any event, never once treated her as someone to be seen with. It was as if she were some shameful stain he had to keep hidden.
