Delete My Love for You novel Chapter 36

So this is what it looks like when Darren loves a woman.

“Hey! Contestant Number 8! Why are you just standing there? Move it! Can’t you see Ms. Lancaster is already waiting?”

Charlotte followed everyone’s gaze. Xena had already slipped out of her fencing gear, lounging comfortably on the nearby sofa in a fitted tank top, looking utterly at ease.

Behind her mask, Charlotte’s eyes flashed cold. Her fingers tightened around her sword hilt until her knuckles turned white.

The chip implanted in her brain whirred into action, weighing every risk and advantage.

Reveal her identity now? No, not yet. The timing was all wrong.

She hadn’t fully acclimated to the chip; exposing herself too soon would only invite trouble. Better to bide her time.

In a split second, Charlotte made her choice.

She peeled off her fencing glove and walked toward Xena, pressing her fingers into Xena’s shoulder.

Her touch was neither too gentle nor too rough, but the chip was already mapping every muscle and recording how Xena’s body responded—capturing the habits and weaknesses that would become lethal weapons in the match ahead.

Xena, blissfully unaware, closed her eyes and sighed, “Not bad. You know, maybe you should just quit the tournament. You’re not going to win anyway.”

She opened one eye and grinned. “Why don’t you come work for me? I could use a personal masseuse at my estate. I’ve only got nine staff, you’d make a perfect tenth.”

Her words were dripping with scorn, and the spectators burst out laughing.

Charlotte didn’t flinch. “Ms. Lancaster, why don’t I massage your legs as well?”

“By all means, Masseuse Number Eight.”

Xena’s reply drew another wave of laughter.

But she had no idea that every detail of her muscle structure had already been quietly uploaded to Charlotte’s neural chip.

That’s the difference between love and indifference.

A bitter smile tugged at Charlotte’s lips as her gaze dropped.

Seated next to Darren was Noah, dressed in a sharp little suit, waving a tiny flag emblazoned with Xena’s name and the words “Victory.”

For an instant, it felt as though a needle had pierced Charlotte’s heart.

Then, in the next moment, Noah’s face lit up. He waved his flag with all his might, cheering over and over:

“Xena, you’re the best!”

“Go, Champion Mom!”

“Mommy, you can do it!”
