Delete My Love for You novel Chapter 92

He turned to Xena and ordered, “Take Noah out.”

But Noah stood up from the couch, his voice steady. “I’m not leaving!”

“Dad, the reason I believe what the carpenter said is because this bodyguard—she’s the real problem!”

Noah pointed straight at Charlotte.

Darren’s brow furrowed as he fixed his gaze on her. “Oh? And what problem is that?”

A faint, icy smirk tugged at the corner of Charlotte’s lips.

It was as if she already knew exactly what Noah would say. Her eyes were dull, resigned—she’d seen through everything, and it no longer seemed to matter to her.

Noah didn’t look at Charlotte again. His face was expressionless as he continued, “Dad, I was scared at first. But if she doesn’t pay for what she’s done, she’ll just come after me again. So I’ve decided to tell you everything.”

Xena wrapped an arm around his trembling shoulders, comforting him. “Noah, you’re very brave. Go on—say whatever you need to. Your father’s right here. No one can hurt you.”

Bolstered by Xena’s encouragement, Noah spoke with new resolve:

“When I passed out in that pitch-black storm drain, I heard the bad woman say she got someone to throw me down there. She said if she rescued me after that, you’d be grateful to her.”

“She also said I’d better behave. Otherwise, she’d kill me and just give you another child—then she’d have everything you own!”

“It was so dark, I couldn’t see who it was. I only knew there was a bomb, so I tried to crawl out. Later, when I saw her coming out of the storm drain, I realized—it was her!”

Noah glared at Charlotte, his eyes hard and unyielding.

The carpenter chimed in, “That’s right, Mr. Harrington. It’s this woman. I’d recognize her face anywhere, even if she were ashes!”

As everyone’s suspicion once again converged on Charlotte, she found the whole thing almost laughable.

She glanced past Noah’s hateful stare, ignored Xena’s smug grin, and finally met Darren’s deep, inscrutable eyes.

She took a slow breath.
