Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 96

The salesclerk went pale, clutching the clothes and hurrying off to swap them out.

Dean’s face turned stormy. He narrowed his eyes at Emmy and asked, “Where’d you find that male model? Was it that guy at the hospital last time? Bet he cost you a pretty penny, huh?”

Abriella shot right back, “Not everyone’s like you, Dean. Money can’t buy everything. I’m warning you—leave Emmy alone, or you’ll regret it.”

The salesclerk rushed back, neatly folded clothes in hand, and handed them to Emmy with a nervous smile.

Emmy took them without even glancing at Dean and walked off.

That’s when Evelina finally spoke up, her voice soft and careful. “Emmy, were you with Mr. Nelson the night of the charity gala?”

Emmy didn’t even pause, let alone look at her.

But Abriella whipped around, flashed Evelina a very clear middle finger, and mouthed, “Homewrecker.” She stuck out her tongue with a triumphant little grin, then hurried to catch up with Emmy.

Evelina’s face turned bright red. Tears filled her eyes, and she looked like she was about to burst but was determined to hold it in.

Dean slid his arm around her shoulders, lowering his voice. “Don’t listen to Abriella. She grew up in the sticks and never learned any manners. Doesn’t even have a proper job—just sponges off the Sullivan family. She’s not worth your time.”

Evelina nodded, still looking down, her mood clearly sinking.

Dean turned to the salesclerk. “Wrap up those two outfits we looked at earlier.”

Evelina looked up at him, confused.

Dean’s eyes flickered. “Emmy always had good taste. She used to buy my clothes, anyway. This just saves us time.”

Evelina’s nails pressed into her palm, but her face was all soft understanding.

“But, Dean… if you wear what she picked and Emmy sees, won’t she get the wrong idea?”

Dean let out a cold, arrogant laugh. “Relax. It’s just casual wear—she won’t see me. And even if she does, I’ll still outshine her husband.”

Evelina squeezed her hands together, forcing a smile.

Meanwhile, outside, Abriella was practically stomping holes in the sidewalk.
