Sophie looked down at Declan, who was bawling his eyes out, completely spineless.

Then she glanced at the screen, where the security footage kept replaying over and over.

In the footage, Declan’s face twisted with malice after he tampered with Ghost.

That last shred of illusion Sophie had left about him was shattered. Now there was nothing but pure disgust in

her heart.

“Get lost!” Sophie snapped. She slammed her foot into Declan’s shoulder. “Relationship? Someone like you isn’t even qualified to talk about it.”

After knocking him to the floor, she kept kicking him, rage still burning within her. “When you targeted Sienna, did you ever stop to consider the consequences?

“Just a couple of words, and you wanted her dead. How could you be so vicious and messed up in the head? Rotting away in prison is way too easy on you. I’ll make sure you wish you were dead every single day in there.”

Just thinking about how Declan messed with Sienna’s Ghost, and how that could have easily gotten Sienna hurt or even killed out there on the track, made Sophie’s blood run cold.

Now, she wanted nothing more than to beat Declan to a pulp and take revenge for Sienna.

Just then, the police sirens grew louder, creeping up closer every second.

A few cop cars pulled up right by the track.

This place was considered a little shady, teetering on the edge of what was legal and what was not.

Seeing the cops show up, the whole vibe just felt a little ridiculous, especially since there’d just been a car crash here just now.

However, Alvin strutted over with a grin and talked with the cops for a moment.

In the end, everyone tacitly agreed not to mention the car crash.

Declan and Cora were shoved out onto the track by the cops, who stood there watching every second as Declan and Cora were forced to humiliate themselves by shouting, “I’ll never cross Sophie again!”

Sophie, who’d been thrilled at first, eventually felt pretty embarrassed, cringing inside.

Having them yell that was kind of humiliating.

“Let’s go,” Sienna said. This was Alvin’s domain, and with the crowd packed around, there were plenty of folks to make sure Declan and Cora saw their punishment through.

Sienna had zero patience for sticking around to watch a bunch of losers humiliate themselves all the way to

the finish line.

Sophie, face burning with embarrassment, quickly nodded and hurried after Sienna.

“Sienna.” With the troublemakers finally dealt with, Alvin came rushing over.

Alvin shot a glance at Sophie, who was holding onto Sienna’s arm like she wasn’t letting go, then looked over at Mason and Miles, both standing tall and cool right behind them.

Alvin pressed his lips together. His usually cynical and roguish face looked dead serious for once.

Honestly, it was rare to see Alvin-the ultimate bad boy who always acted like nothing mattered-looking that solemn.

Sienna narrowed her icy-clear eyes and looked at Sophie.

Before Sienna could say anything, Sophie let go of her arm obediently, her clear eyes alight with a bright smile. “Sienna, you go take care of things. I’ll chat with Mason for a bit.”

Sienna watched as Sophie practically bounced her way over to Mason, then turned and headed off with Alvin to talk on the side.

“Sienna, there’s something off about Crow,” Alvin murmured. “I dug up the maintenance area footage from earlier. Crow was hanging around Ghost, too. He wasn’t caught doing anything, but there was something amiss with the way he was staring at Ghost.”

As he spoke, he held out his hand to Sienna. “The cleanup crew found this in his crashed car.”

Sienna lowered her eyes.

Resting in Alvin’s palm was a badge, engraved with a sinister snake motif, and stamped with the flag of Baletin.

“After I found this, I had my guys start digging into it,” Alvin said. “This is the badge of a notorious assassin crew from Baletin. Crow’s whole backstory is a lie. He’s not from Aurathen, but from Baletin.”

Sienna took the badge, running her slender fingers over it, her eyes turning cold and sharp.

“Sienna, aren’t you even the least bit surprised?” Alvin stared at her. He couldn’t spot a single trace of shock on

her face.

It was almost like she’d seen this coming from the very start.

“Maybe he thought I wouldn’t survive today anyway,” Sienna said, folding the badge into her palm, an indifferent smirk in her eyes. “He never even tried to hide his intent to kill me. Only a pro assassin would have that kind of killing aura”

Alvin’s face fell. “So I’m late again, aren’t 1, Sienna?”

He only just found out what Sienna had guessed ages ago.

Sienna slipped the badge into her pocket. “No, you were right on time.”

Alvin perked right up at the praise, his chin lifting as he looked proudly smug.

“Clean up everything. We’re in Aurathen, so don’t bring us any trouble,” Sienna said, checking her watch. “I’m heading home.”

Alvin nodded nonstop. “Got it. You can count on me.”

With her hands stuffed in her pockets, Sienna wandered over to where Sophie was.

She overheard Sophie teasing, “Mason, she’s such a catch. If you don’t step up, I’ll lose my shot at having a sister-in-law.”

Sienna’s long lashes trembled slightly as her gaze drifted over to Mason.

Just then, Mason glanced up and locked eyes with her.

The instant their eyes met, Mason’s usually cold and mysterious face lit up with a smile that was both charming and a little devilish.

He looked dangerously alluring, impossible to resist.

Sienna couldn’t help but feel a tickle in her heart, as if a feather had brushed softly inside.

“Looks like you’ve landed yourself in some real trouble, Sienna,” Mason said as he strode over, those long, lean legs eating up the distance between them.

Tall and graceful, he moved with a lazy, almost languid confidence.

With the sunlight spilling behind him, he looked for all the world like a deity descending to earth.

Seriously, Sophie thought, ‘there isn’t a single moment he doesn’t have everyone under his spell.

Mason stopped right in front of Sienna, his long lashes casting shadows over those bright, captivating eyes, a teasing smile playing on his lips. “Need a hand?”

“Just some small fry left over from the Wonder incident,” Sienna replied coolly. “No need, I can handle it.”

She lifted her eyes. “Sophie’s with me. I’ll keep her safe, so you don’t have to keep following us.”

Miles stood off to the side, his lips twitching, itching to say that Mason didn’t come here for Sophie, but for
