Chapter 108

Seeing Declan’s expression, Sophie suddenly smiled.

Her face, which had been red with anger, gradually softened as her fury faded away, and her gaze toward Declan calmed down a lot.

She scoffed, “You don’t know?”

Declan said, “You never told me, so how could I possibly know? Sophic, I promise I didn’t mean it. I was drunk that night, and I don’t remember a thing that happened. You didn’t call me the next day to tell me either. If you had told me-”

“It doesn’t matter anymore,” Sophie interrupted, fixing her eyes on Declan’s anxious face.

Back then, she found Declan so handsome that her heart raced like crazy. But now, he just looked so average to her.

Sophie knew Sienna was giving her a real shot at finally closing the book on her old life.

She scoffed again, her laughter full of sharp mockery.

Suddenly, her eyes shifted to Cora, who was totally rattled.

Her laughter rang out louder.

With every laugh, the obsession she’d clung to over the years for Declan faded, little by little, until nothing was left.

After what felt like forever, she wiped the smile off her face and stared straight at Declan.

“S-Sophie…” Declan’s voice trembled.

Declan’s heart skipped a beat under her gaze, and he suddenly felt like he had to breathe extra carefully.

He wanted to say something, to defend himself.

But Sophie just laughed and said, “Declan, you really do put on quite the act, don’t you? Weren’t you the one behind that car crash?”

Declan’s eyes went wide as he denied it right away, “I didn’t-”

“That day, you called me and told me to pick you up. On my way there, you called me again.” Sophie laughed. “You were on the phone bragging to your buddies about how you had me eating out of your hand.”

Declan’s face went ghostly pale. “I-I didn’t…”

He wasn’t an idiot. Even if he ever thought that way, there was no way he’d actually say it to Sophie’s face.

Sophie cocked her head, shooting Cora a mockingly sweet half-smile. “But that call was definitely from you,

and it was your voice bragging to your friends. That’s why I crashed my car.”

The truth hit Declan like a train, and he snapped his head toward Cora, eyes blazing.

Cora shrank back, her mouth opening as if to defend herself.

Sophie pressed on, “After my accident, I called you nonstop, but every single time, you hung up on me.”

Declan’s breath caught, and his lips quivered. “I didn’t hang up on you—”

Before he finished speaking, he suddenly seemed to remember something, and his face turned even paler.

He’d been hammered that night, and Cora strutted over in that skimpy black maid costume.

He was young, cocky, liquored up, and totally reckless. He couldn’t care less about Sophie then.

“It was you!” Declan’s eyes went wide with fury as he glared at Cora. “You made that call on purpose and let Sophie hear all that garbage. You kept hanging up on her calls.”

At that time, Cora was the only one who could access Declan’s phone.

Cora drew back, shaking her head desperately.

However, her guilty expression was all the proof anyone needed.

Declan was furious beyond words. He’d treated Cora so well, yet she screwed him over behind his back.

He unleashed a stream of curses in rage.

Cora was no pushover. She snapped right back, calling out all the twisted stuff lurking in Declan’s mind and blowing up every bit of his insecurity for everyone to hear.

Watching them go at each other’s throats, it was a full-blown dogfight.

Almost every word they shouted was about her, but Sophie felt nothing. Not even the tiniest ripple.

She’d already gotten what she came for. She couldn’t be bothered to waste another minute on Declan and Cora.

In that moment, Sophie felt every remaining shred of obsession quietly vanish from her heart.

Sophie gently closed her eyes.

For as long as she could remember, her family had kept her sheltered because of her health, but right now, she felt that she had suddenly matured quite a bit.

She drew in a deep breath. She could feel a real, steady calm settle within her at last.

When Sophie opened her eyes again, the first thing she saw was Sienna’s bright, breathtaking face. Sienna’s usual cool, sparkling eyes now carried a soft, caring warmth as she gazed at Sophie.

When their eyes locked, a gentle smile tugged at Sienna’s lips, making her delicate eyes seem even softer.

Sophie blinked, then couldn’t help but smile back.

Sienna reached out, took Sophie’s hand, and gently pulled her close.

Then, barely bothering to look at Declan and Cora fighting, she drawled, “If you want to fight, bicker on the track for as long as you want. By the time you’re done, the cops will probably have arrived.”

Declan’s voice cut off instantly. “What cops?”

Sienna smirked. “You know exactly what you did.”

Declan’s expression kept shifting, but he forced himself to look calm. “I have no idea what you’re talking

about.”

“You have no idea?” Sienna arched a brow. “Need me to remind you just what you did to Ghost?”

Declan’s heart was pounding like crazy.

No way… Sienna actually knows? How could she possibly know?’ Declan wondered, his mind reeling.

His breath came in ragged bursts. “I-I didn’t do anything. If I’d messed with Ghost, how could you have possibly won that race?”

Declan held onto a desperate shred of hope.

He was sure he’d avoided every security camera; there was absolutely no way anyone could’ve seen him.

“It doesn’t matter if you admit it or not,” Sienna said.

She grabbed Sophie’s hand and headed straight to the control console not far away.

“Move aside,” she said.
