The longer Sherwood watched Sienna, the more impressed he became with her.
But every time he glanced at Mason, all he felt was disappointment and annoyance.

He stopped bothering with Mason and beamed at the adorable Sienna. His tone was warm and enthusiastic. “Sienna, why don’t you stay for lunch? Let me show you what our family chef can really do.”
Sienna intended to refuse.
But before she could say anything, Sophie clung to her arm and begged, “Sienna, please stay with me and Grandpa…
Faced with their hopeful eyes, Sienna felt her resistance melting away. Her cold, distant gaze softened, and she couldn’t help but smile wryly. “Alright, I’ll stay for lunch. Sorry to bother you, Sherwood.”
She thought she was only staying for lunch, but before she knew it, she was swept right into dinner, too.
By the time Sherwood and Sophie finally let Sienna go, it was already eight o’clock at night.
Sienna checked the time and stood up to say goodbye.
Even though Sherwood and Sophie were reluctant to let her go, it was already so late that they had no choice but to say goodbye.
Both of them glared at Mason, eyes full of unspoken resentment.
‘If only he’d stop dragging his feet and just marry Sienna already, we wouldn’t have to suffer these painful goodbyes every single time, they both grumbled.
Mason stood up to see Sienna off.
“It’s fine,” Sienna replied, giving her head a little shake. “I’ve got some things I need to handle.”
Mason caught her stealing glances at her phone, and for once, that usual icy calm in her profile wavered, replaced by real tension.
He almost said, ‘I’ll go with you, wherever you’re headed,” but stopped himself just in time.
It hit Mason immediately–whatever Sienna was dealing with now, it was clear he couldn’t just tag along.
With a smile and a nod, he walked her to the main gate.
The moon hung high, casting a cold, silvery light over everything.
Mason slipped his jacket onto Sienna’s shoulders, the move so smooth it seemed almost automatic. “Call me when you get home,” Mason said.
His jacket carried a fresh, pine–like scent, and it was still warm from his body.

She wasn’t used to it.
:
Mason slipped his car keys into her hand. “If you won’t let me drive you, at least take my car.”
Sienna shot him a look but ultimately just accepted the keys.
This was a rich neighborhood, and getting a cab out here was already a hassle.
Besides, she really was in a rush.
Mason opened the car door for her.

Sienna hopped into the driver’s seat, started the engine, and the sleek black Maybach disappeared into the night.
She didn’t spare a single glance back.
Mason watched as the car sped off, disappearing from sight. He couldn’t help but chuckle under his breath.
“Really a heartless woman,” Mason muttered.
Chuckling softly, he turned around and went back inside.
As soon as he walked into the living room, he was hit with two pairs of “why are you like this?” stares—from Sophie and Sherwood.
“Useless,” Sherwood grumbled in disgust. “You had the perfect chance. Why didn’t you just drive her home? And then, couldn’t you find an excuse to stick around at the Cooper residence so you wouldn’t have to leave? If you keep chasing after a girl like this, you will never win her over.”
Sophie pouted and added, “Yeah, totally. Mason, you’re hopeless. Sienna’s such a catch, and if you keep messing around, don’t blame us if someone else sweeps her off her feet.”
Mason leaned against the doorframe with quiet authority, hands still stuffed in his pockets. Listening to Sherwood and Sophie grill him, a smirk tugged at his lips. “Don’t worry. No one can steal her from me. She’s only ever going to be mine.”
He wagged a finger. “You guys just don’t get it. Chasing a girl’s all about mastering the art of balance–clingy when it counts, cool when you need to be. That’s how you win her over.”
Sherwood and Sophie shared a glance, their faces practically screaming how fed up they were with Mason.
“Strategy?” Sherwood laughed dryly. “If you really understood anything about courting a girl, would you seriously still be single? Don’t talk to me about strategy.”
Sophie chimed in, nodding emphatically. “Exactly. Mason, you were born with a ‘forever alone‘ vibe.”
After a long day, Sherwood was starting to feel a bit worn out,
But after roasting Mason, he actually felt a lot better.

He carefully pulled out the little porcelain bottle Sienna had given him, treating it like a treasure.
‘Such a good mood today, but man, I’m drained. Time to pop a pill and get my energy back, he thought.
He popped the cork and shook out a glossy, round brown pill with a sharp herbal aroma.
Just as he was about to take it, Finn hesitated, then spoke up carefully. “Mr. Brown, how about we get it tested. before you take it? Just to be on the safe side… especially after what happened with that Wellness Powder earlier today.”
“Finn, you don’t need to test it,” Sophie said, pulling out an identical little porcelain bottle from her purse and waving it around like a treasure. “Look, this is the Heart–Protecting Pill Sienna gave me. Each one is worth 200 thousand dollars, but honestly, you can’t even buy them no matter how much you offer. And Sienna gave me thirty. I’ve been taking them for two days already. They work wonders. I feel just like a normal person
now.”
“Heart–Protecting Pill?” Finn sucked in a sharp breath, practically staring holes through the bottle in Sophie’s hand. “Thirty of them?”
As the Brown family’s butler, he knew all too well: anything Dr. C made was legendary, worth a king’s ransom.
Especially since Dr. C was infamous for his eccentric ways. He only made medicine when he was in the mood.
Even with all the Brown family’s clout, scoring more than ten Heart–Protecting Pills at once was basically impossible.
But Sienna just handed a whole bottle over to Sophie, as if it were no big deal.
Hearing that, Sherwood pinched the pill between his fingers and studied it carefully.
He saw that the pill’s surface wasn’t smooth. There was a tiny, masterfully carved character, Dr. C’s own signature mark, etched right into it.
