Sienna held Jennifer in a humiliating grip, pressing her head down until Jennifer’s check scraped the wall and her face twisted from the pressure.

She leaned in close to Jennifer’s car, her voice low and cold. “Say one more word, and I’ll make sure you never pick up a scalpel again.”

Her fingers yanked Jennifer’s hair as she smiled. “You understand?”

Fear washed over Jennifer. She whimpered, twisting in pain, half-cursing, half-pleading.

The doctors around them stared, stunned. Nobody expected this pretty, quiet girl to attack a hospital doctor. As they scrambled to intervene, someone shouted, “Sienna, stop!”

A man in a spotless white coat strode over fast. He was tall and handsome, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, and his eyes blazed with anger.

This was Windsor, the hospital’s youngest surgical director and the second son of the Fairbank family.

“Sienna, what are you doing? This is a hospital, not a place for your stunts,” Windsor said, his voice cold as he reached to pull Jennifer away. He looked furious seeing his normally composed assistant pressed against the wall and crying.

Sienna looked up and glanced at him with a cold, empty stare. That look stopped Windsor’s hand mid-reach. His eyes widened in disbelief.

The girl in front of him was nothing like the timid, eager-to-please Sienna he remembered. She looked at him like a

stranger.

Ignoring Windsor, Sienna grabbed Jennifer’s hair and slammed her head against the wall again, then let go.

Jennifer slid down to the floor, curling up and moaning, “Dr. Fairbank… Dr. Fairbank…”

Windsor’s face went dark. Sienna’s actions were a slap in his face. He watched her pull out disinfectant wipes and calmly clean her fingers, anger and disgust written all over him.

“Sienna-” he started, teeth clenched.

“The operating room is ready!” Ella panted as she ran up. “Funny thing-when I went, an emergency operating room was already prepped to the highest standards.”
