Jessica’s face flushed bright red at Gloria’s jab. “You know exactly what you’re thinking! We’re both women. Don’t think I can’t see right through you.”
Jessica thought, Gloria is a total vixen, always flirting shamelessly with someone else’s boyfriend and never missing a chance to show off. Now she’s making it seem like I’m the petty one.
“Enough!” Ernest snapped, his voice sharp with irritation.
He shot Jessica a look full of impatience, his eyes cold and dismissive.
He used to think Jessica’s girlish, obedient nature was cute and easy to handle.
But now, she was nothing but a nuisance and a burden.
Ernest thought, ‘Girls from humble backgrounds just can’t compare to those bred in the upper crust from birth. She really doesn’t know how to read the room or act appropriately.
“If you’re not here to take on the Challenge, then move it—or just get out of my sight,” Sienna snarled, her tone cold and fed up.
She curled her crimson lips with icy indifference. “Keep blocking my way, and we’ll play by Phantom Bay’s rules–cause trouble again, and don’t blame me if you end up with your arms and legs shattered.”
Ernest studied Sienna for a long moment, his eyes growing more serious.
Eventually, his gaze shifted to the Ghost, lingering on its signature emblem.
His expression turned even colder, the darkness in his eyes deepening.
“Ernest, there’s really nothing I can do,” Gloria said, spreading her hands in defeat, her voice laced with a hint of grievance and helplessness. “I honestly wanted to help you.”
Her voice rose and fell in the most flirtatious, teasing way–like she was born to tempt trouble.
It was enough to make anyone’s heart race and their knees go weak.
Ernest clenched his jaw, his eyes roaming over the Ghost before they locked onto Gloria.
Til sign the contract,” he said, his voice low and gravelly.
“15 million dollars–I’ve got that covered,” he added, his tone icy and resolute.
Ernest thought, ‘It’s just Sophie, and at best Sienna, who’s seriously no threat at all.‘
‘No way I’m losing to them. Even if Sienna somehow pulls Alvin into this, they’ll still have to play by the rules. They’re gonna lose for sure, no question. Just a piece of paper, nothing more,” he thought.
If he pulled off the win, the Ghost would be all his, and that fat deposit would go right back into his pocket.

Pines, please? Jessica chung to his arm ber usually gentle and innocent face breaking with worry. “You’ve got to calm down‘ Choria is so doing this on purpose. I mean, seriously, who just happens to have a contract ready to go? She totally planned this whole thing!
Set up Ernest snapped, shoving Jessica away with a cold, dismissive gesture.
she hadn’t burred in like that, he’d already have Gloria’s Shadow in his hands and would’ve challenged Sophie without a second thought.
He wouldn’t be stuck signing some damn contract.
He wouldn’t be desperate, scrambling to pull together 13 million dollars at the last second.
Jessica stumbled back a couple of steps, nearly losing her balance and crashing to the ground.
Her eyes brimmed with disbelief and hurt as she looked at Ernest, her voice trembling. “Ernest…”
Ernest didn’t even glance her way, his gaze icy and razor–sharp. “The Ghost–I’m going to get it. Nothing’s stopping me.”
Jessica’s eyes turned red with fury, her whole face twisted with anger.
Watching Ernest go all out. dropping a huge pile of cash on a car—just because of some woman whose face he hadn’t even seen. looking completely obsessed and like it was do or die—all this made her blood boil.
Her heart was so twisted up with annoyance that she seriously felt like she could puke.
She was furious now.
Ernest had never spent more than 1.5 million dollars on her, not even close.
But now, he was just tossing 15 million dollars around like it was nothing.
Does Ernest really think I’m worth less than that racer, Skye?‘ Jessica thought, her heart twisting with jealousy.
That woman has been gone for four years–who knows what she’s been through? Maybe she’s already been used up and tossed aside. Is she really worth all this obsession?‘ she thought.
Jessica glared as Ernest took the pen from Gloria and scribbled his name on the contract, not even hesitating.
She stomped her foot hard, so furious it felt like she could explode.
Ernest didn’t spare Jessica a single glance. He signed his name in a bold sweep, then instantly pulled out his phone and wired the 15–million–dollar deposit straight into Gloria’s account–no hesitation, all business.
Gloria glanced at her phone, her full lips curving into a smug, victorious smile she could barely contain.
No one noticed her as she boldly caught Sienna’s eye over the crowd, her grin bright and unapologetic–a radiant smile that flaunted her win like a blossom bursting into bloom.

She smoothly pressed the gold–plated key card into his hand. Her fingers–painted with eye–catching nail polish–brushed over his palm, lingering just a little longer than necessary, all pretending to be accidental.
She curled her lips into an even more stunning smile, practically glowing with triumph.
Ernest’s icy gaze rippled for a split second, a flicker of emotion he couldn’t quite hide. He lowered his eyes to the gold key card, still feeling the faint warmth Gloria had left on his palm.
Gloria stepped back a couple of paces and snapped her fingers.
Seconds later, this beastly matte–black motorcycle came flying in out of nowhere–shooting across the lot like a rocket unleashed.
Splashed across the motorcycle’s body was a giant, bold “S” logo.
That mark–that was the legendary badge of the international racing scene, the one and only Shadowline Club.
“Shadow–I’m pretty sure everyone here knows her name. Her fame rivals even the Ghost,” Gloria teased, lips quirked in a sultry, playful smile. “So, Ernest, here’s wishing you a sweep–go show them how it’s done.”
Ernest lifted his chin, those razor–sharp features showing off even more swagger.
He smirked. “That’s only natural.”
Jessica watched Ernest heading straight for the Shadow, her eyes narrowing as he ran his fingertip over the key card–the very one that would grant him access to the legendary ride.
Declan finally seized the moment he’d been waiting for.
Clenching his jaw against the pain, he strutted over to Sophie and gloated, “Sophie, you see that? This is what happens when you never listen–this is the price for your reckless bravado!”
“Are you really gonna pretend you don’t know how messed up your own health is? It’s not too late to quit now -just throw in the towel before things get worse!”
As those words left his mouth, Declan flashed a triumphant smile, his eyes gleaming with pride as he looked down at Sophie, drinking in that rush of superiority he’d been waiting for.
“Cora wants that Ghost, too!” Declan sneered, his voice dripping with smugness.
“Sophie, here’s another rule for the Challenge. You can totally send in a substitute to race for you!” Declan drawled, oozing smugness.
“Ernest never planned to hit the track himself, so you can beg Mr. Fuller all you want, but it won’t change a damn thing!
