Chapter 22
At Spring Harmony Villa, in the bedroom, Vincent slept restlessly.
He lay on the side where Rebecca used to sleep, dreaming again of the tub filled with bloody water at the White fami- ly estate. This time Rebecca stared at him with blood-streaked tears, demanding loudly word by word. “Why have you never believed me? Why did you abandon me again and again?”
In the dream, Vincent desperately wanted to explain, but couldn’t make a sound. Just as he panicked, the scene shifted

Vincent jolted awake, shouting in confusion. “No! Don’t! Elijah! Rebecca!”
The voice-activated bedroom light flickered on. Vincent rubbed his temples, staring blankly at the ceiling.
He suddenly remembered that day when Rebecca held the watch, his brow furrowing involuntarily.
How did she know about that watch?

He immediately checked Elijah’s dashcam, but it was damaged.

Since Elijah died saving him, explaining the watch felt impossible. He’d planned to reveal the truth after uncovering it, never expecting Rebecca would discover it first-causing such profound misunderstanding.
If only he’d patiently explained back then… would everything have been different?
Unfortunately, there were no what-ifs. Back then, he…
Vincent closed his eyes. For over half a month, he’d replayed one question daily: if given another chance, would he still treat Rebecca that way?
The more he dwelled on it, the deeper his regret grew. Sweet memories of their time together surfaced, tearing at him as past and present collided.
His body and soul had long been hollowed out, gnawed by regret.
Outside, daylight flooded the sky. Vincent called his secretary, instructing him to hire the industry’s top private inves- tigator to uncover the truth about Michael’s accident.
Rebecca marching straight into his office to retrieve that watch struck Vincent as deeply suspicious-someone had to be pulling strings behind this.
Two days later, the investigator delivered a stack of documents.
