From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 217

“What?” Ethan Carter blinked, not quite sure what Olivia meant.

Olivia Bennett pressed her lips together, her voice soft but insistent. “If you have feelings for someone, you should just tell me.”

Ethan stared at her, frowning. “Didn’t I already tell you?”

She looked up, puzzled.

He sighed, “Didn’t I just tell you two days ago that I like you?”

And before she could react, he pulled her into his arms, tilting her chin so she had to look up at him. “What’s going on? Tell me.”

Olivia met his searching gaze, and the feelings she’d been bottling up suddenly surged to the surface, breaking free all at once.

She turned her face away, her lips trembling as she muttered, “I know everything.”

She could still smell a faint trace of perfume on him, which made her uncomfortable. She pressed her hands against his chest, pushing back. “Let me go. Please.”

Ethan was totally lost, his arms locked around her waist. “What is it that you know? Just say it, and I’ll let go.”

She couldn’t break free, so she just frowned and glared at him. “Let me go first. I feel sick.”

Ethan’s brow furrowed, his voice dropping. “You feel sick just because I’m hugging you? Is that why you wouldn’t let me hold you in the studio earlier?”

Olivia’s hands froze. She turned her face away, her voice barely above a whisper. “The cologne on you smells awful.”

Ethan paused, confused. “I didn’t wear any cologne.”

Olivia’s heart twisted, and she pushed him again.

This time, Ethan let go.

She stepped back, putting distance between them. Her eyes stung, and she felt a strange sense of bitterness.

“If it’s not your cologne, then it must be someone else’s,” she murmured, her gaze fixed on the floor.
