Carlson Baker had brought his own gift, too.
Once everyone had finished handing out their presents, Beatty grew impatient. She tugged at Damian Franklin’s sleeve, frowning. “Hey, where’s Beatty’s gift?”
Damian just chuckled, trying to calm her down. “Don’t worry, I brought it for you.”
He crouched down and pulled a small, elegant box from the stroller.
Beatty snatched it up immediately, but instead of opening it, she fixed Damian with a stern look. “Did Beatty buy this?”
Damian nodded. “Yep, you picked it out yourself.”
Satisfied, Beatty passed the box over to Olivia Bennett. “This is from me!”
Damian explained from the side, “She saw it when I took her to the mall the other day. Fell in love with it right away.”
Olivia took the gift and opened the box.
Inside, nestled on white satin, was a dazzling pink crystal bracelet. The crystals were round and perfectly polished—clear as mountain spring water, not a single flaw in sight.
Under the warm glow of the living room lights, the bracelet shimmered with a soft, beautiful sparkle.
Olivia’s eyes lit up in awe.
Beatty bounced on her toes, her voice urgent, “Put it on! It’s from me!”
“Alright,” Olivia replied with a smile.
She handed the box to Ethan Carter, then slipped the bracelet onto her wrist. Her skin was already pale, but the pink crystals made her look even more delicate.
She held up her wrist for Beatty to see. “What do you think? Does it look good?”
Beatty nodded so hard she nearly lost her balance, grinning with pride. “It’s pretty! It’s from me!”
Olivia laughed. “It is. Thank you, Mom, for such a beautiful bracelet. I’ll wear it all the time.”
Beatty was absolutely beaming.
After the gifts were put away, Damian glanced at his watch and said to everyone, “Let’s head outside.”
