Olivia Bennett shot him a quick glance, and under his teasing gaze, she bit his lip, grazing it softly before pulling away. “There. Happy now?”

“Not even close,” Ethan Carter grinned.

He dipped down, kissing her again, his lips pressing against hers until they were both breathless when he finally pulled back.

Ethan forced himself to behave, taking a deep breath and letting out a slow sigh. “You okay?” he asked.

Olivia let out a little laugh. “I think you’re the one suffering here, not me.”

“Oh, so you do realize,” Ethan teased, brushing his hand over her flushed cheeks. “Don’t worry, I’ll get you back for this later.”

Olivia’s cheeks turned even redder.

He kissed her forehead gently. “Get some sleep, Liv.”

She was actually pretty tired, and honestly a little worried he’d say something even more outrageous, so she quickly mumbled, “Okay.”

Ethan wrapped his arms around her and spoke softly, “I’ve got a dinner meeting tomorrow night. Might be home late.”

“Alright.”

“And after a couple days, I’ll finally have some time to spend with you. Just us.”

“Okay,” Olivia replied again, snuggling closer.

The next morning, when Olivia woke, Ethan was already gone.

She rubbed her eyes and got herself ready before heading downstairs.

Breakfast was the usual—scrambled eggs and toast. Adelina Lane, her friend, joined her for a walk, and afterward, they sat and chatted in the cozy living room.

A couple hours later, Olivia headed upstairs.

She rummaged through her bag and pulled out a small packet, then flopped onto the couch.

It was the craft kit she’d bought a few days ago—beads and string for making friendship bracelets.

She’d promised Ethan she’d give him a reward for something he did, but she never quite figured out what to get him.
