From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 327

Adelina Lane did her best to comfort Olivia Bennett all the way to the hospital.

As soon as the car stopped, Lance Carter hurriedly unbuckled his seatbelt and rushed to the back seat.

He swung the door open, bending down to help Adelina. Together, they carefully but frantically lifted Olivia out of the car.

The two of them dashed toward the ER entrance.

“Help! Someone, please! We need a doctor, now!” Adelina shouted at the top of her lungs, not caring who stared.

A nurse noticed the commotion and quickly wheeled a gurney over. “Over here!” she called.

Lance wasted no time settling Olivia onto the bed.

Just then, a middle-aged man in a white coat hurried over, breathing heavily, clearly having run the whole way. “Mr. Carter, Mrs. Carter?”

Lance had already called ahead while they were stuck at a red light.

Seeing the doctor now, his composure finally broke. “Dr. White, please—just check on Olivia, is she okay?”

Dr. White glanced down and saw the blood staining Olivia’s dress.

He didn’t hesitate. “We need to get her to the delivery room—now!”

They rushed Olivia down the corridor and through a set of swinging doors.

The doors closed behind her.

Adelina’s legs gave out. She slid down the wall and collapsed on the cold linoleum. The tears she’d been holding back came in a flood.

Just seconds ago, she’d been the calm, steady one. Now, all that resolve was gone.

Lance knelt beside her and helped her up, guiding her to a chair.

“Hey, it’s okay. Don’t cry. You were just telling Olivia everything would be alright, remember?”
