From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 365

Everyone knew there was going to be a “Welcome to the World” brunch for Carey, so they made plans to come together.

Olivia had already decided to take some cute photos of Carey herself—she had a whole Pinterest board of ideas. Since Helen Adams and a few others were coming over, that made things even easier. They’d all talked about it weeks ago.

Elaine Carter seemed genuinely interested. “Hey, maybe I can help with the photos later, too.”

Olivia nodded, just as her phone dinged with a new message.

She glanced down, her brows knitting together in concern—it was from Helen.

Helen’s message read: “Our car broke down halfway here. We’ve called for roadside assistance, but we’ll probably be a bit late.”

Elaine noticed something was up and asked, “What’s going on, Olivia?”

After hesitating a moment, Olivia replied, “Some of the girls from the studio are having car trouble.”

Elaine frowned, “So… they can’t make it?”

Olivia explained the whole situation—Helen and the others were stranded, waiting for help.

Elaine raised her eyebrows. “I’ll go check on them.”

Olivia looked worried. “You sure? I don’t want to trouble you.”

Elaine just grinned. “It’s no trouble! If their car’s out for good, I can give them a lift. How many are there?”

“Four,” Olivia replied.

Originally, everyone had planned to come, but two had last-minute work stuff pop up.

Elaine nodded. “Alright. Hold down the fort, Olivia. I’ll be back soon.”

With that, she grabbed her keys and hurried out.

Meanwhile, Beatty peeked in on sleeping baby Carey, then turned to Olivia. “I’m heading downstairs to find Damian.”

Olivia offered, “I’ll go with you.”

Beatty shook her head, waving her hands. “No, no. You stay with Carey. I know my way around.”

With that, she slipped out, leaving Olivia alone with the baby.
