The order included everyday essentials–cold medicine, fever reducers, vitamin tablets, burn ointments, heatstroke remedies, stomach meds, antibiotics, blood pressure medication, diabetes medication, wound ointments, bandages, patches, calcium tablets….

Basically, Caroline made sure to cover every common illness she could think of.

She also ordered medicine for elderly and infant care, as they were things that would be especially valuable once the world ended.

On top of that, Caroline even requested a batch of veterinary drugs–dewormers, probiotics, and the like.

Her excuse to the sales rep was simple. “I’m opening a pharmacy chain.”

Some medications did require proper certification.

However, since the rep knew Caroline had money and was in a hurry, he volunteered to help her secure the paperwork himself. He worked fast too.

He was thrilled to land such a massive order and promised to deliver everything to Caroline’s chosen location within a few days

Caroline paid the deposit.

Once that was settled, she hurried home. After all, Raven was still waiting for her there.

Yet, to her surprise, when she walked in, the air conditioner was running.

The icy chill made her shiver after coming back from the sweltering humidity outside.

She was certain she had turned it off before leaving.

And stranger still–Raven had not come running to greet her.

Caroline walked further in and found Raven sprawled under the air conditioner, happily enjoying the cool air.

When it saw her, it gave her a resentful look, as if to say, “What took you so long?”

So, Raven had turned the AC on himself?

Caroline almost wanted to bow in reverence–Lord Raven was truly amazing.

That night, she slept even better than she expected.

Maybe it was because she had already taken care of Jonathan and Reese, cutting ties with those two before the apocalypse began. It felt like she had corrected the mistake of her previous life.

Still, the future was yet to come.

And there would be plenty of chances for revenge after the world ended.

The very next morning, she discovered the AC had been turned on again.

No prizes for guessing who was responsible

Caroline stood over Raven, sighing helplessly.

It barely even looked at her, just flicked its eyes open briefly.

“Raven, it’s fine if we run the AC, but can we not set the temperature so low? Achoo!”

She sneezed helplessly, earning nothing but a contemptuous glance from Raven.

This morning, she had to inspect the anti–corrosion materials used in her renovation, and then arrange for a furnace to be installed.

Tomorrow, she would be moving out since an agent was coming to take over the house.

As usual, she took Raven for their morning workout, grabbed breakfast, and then brought him along to check the house.

However, just as she reached the upstairs hallway, before she even made it to the do chatting around the corner.
