Chapter 208 The Accusation
“It’s your fault! All of it!” Erica screamed.
Thinking about her husband, Erica completely lost control. She rushed forward, trying to choke Caroline.
For days, she’d been holding it in, planning how to get revenge on Caroline.
To do that, she’d gone out of her way to impress the Lowlands.
Eventually, after much effort, she managed to get close to Gaylord.
Gaylord wasn’t a man who cared for beauty, so Erica had to work hard to win his approval.
But she knew deep down. Gaylord only saw her as a tool.
Caroline took a step back.
Gaylord grabbed Erica and pulled her aside, slapping her hard. “Don’t make a scene in front of my boss!” he barked.
Naturally, he meant Harry.
Erica quickly realized her mistake. She smoothed her hair, muttered an apology to Harry, then stood quietly beside Gaylord. Her eyes, sharp and hateful, locked on Caroline, but she didn’t dare
say another word.
After all, she’d already said what she wanted.
Looking at Caroline and Raven, she couldn’t help but notice they were living well. Better than anyone she knew.
And she was sure Harry believed at least part of what she’d said.
Caroline frowned at him. “Harry, are you and your family that dumb? Letting a woman like her trick you? And what’s this storage space anyway?”
Harry yawned. “Caroline, let’s not play dumb. Everyone in the upper ranks of the country is looking for it. The people who have it all share a few things in common–they live comfortably, and they own rare gemstones or antiques. They always have supplies no one else can get.
And you fit that list a little too well. Can you blame me for being suspicious?”
He smiled. “I remember you had a family ring, right? Let me take a look. I promise I’ll leave

right after. I won’t give you any trouble.”
He even clasped his hands together, pretending to beg her, and put on a sincere look.
Caroline’s face stayed cold. “It broke.”
When she’d ended her engagement with Jonathan, she’d already told them the pendant had shattered. Harry could easily confirm that if he asked around.
But clearly, he didn’t believe her.
Harry sighed. “Well, then we’ll have to search.”
He grinned. “Oh, and by the way, while we were chatting down here, my men already went upstairs.”
Caroline’s heart sank.
But before she could move, Tyler shot forward.
As he passed Harry, he threw a solid punch right into the man’s face.
Harry fell to the floor but didn’t seem to care. He just laughed–loud, wild, and echoing down the hall–as Caroline and Tyler ran upstairs.
Meanwhile, Francis was in a bind.
Orders had come down from above, giving Harry and his men full authority to search the 66th floor.
But Francis had promised Nathaniel that he’d protect her.
When Harry’s men arrived, Francis stopped them at the 40th floor. He refused to let them go any higher.
But among those men, there was one who wasn’t easy to deal with.
The man standing there was Ambrose Lowland–the Lowlands‘ connection inside the military.
He was in his forties. Ambrose was Tyler’s uncle and Harry’s father.
To Francis, Ambrose was nothing but a shameless old fool.
Unfortunately, his military rank was just as high, which made him hard to deal with.
