“Caroline, forget the snake. But that horn on its head? That’s valuable. Bring it to me!” Jasper said eagerly. He pointed one paw toward the screen projection of the storage space, tapping at the image of the golden python’s broken horn.

The horn, made entirely of gold, was over two feet long, thick at the base and tapering upward. The tip had snapped off when the python smashed through the crate, but even so, it was an impressive sight.

Caroline’s eyes flicked with a sharp glint. “Actually … I might have an idea.”

Outside, the golden python slithered through the ruined lab, its massive body coiling and shifting, scales scraping against the floor. It was on edge, highly alert. Just moments ago, through the cracks of the crate, it had clearly seen a two–legged creature and a mutant dog with abilities. But now–gone. Vanished without a trace.

It had destroyed its own horn just to escape, driven by one goal–to kill the researcher who’d tortured it. That man’s blood had triggered its frenzy. But something else had caught its attention too, the scent of the mutant dog. So rich. So delicious.

The python was certain that if it devoured that creature, its broken horn would grow back, and its powers would evolve even further.

But now, a sliver of doubt crept in. The human and the dog were nowhere to be found.

Just as it turned to search again, a faint sound echoed from behind. The python whipped around instantly, its muscles rippling as it coiled to strike.

At that exact moment, Caroline burst out of the storage space. The rule of the storage space was simple–you always reappeared where you entered. Which meant Caroline materialized right in front of the crate.

The instant she appeared, the golden python’s head snapped toward her, its red eyes locking onto her in a flash of murderous hunger. Its blood–red eyes lit up with excitement, mixed with a savage gleam, and it launched itself straight at Caroline.

But just as it lunged, a black blur dropped from above. Raven.

At the same moment, Caroline launched herself off the ground and landed right on top of the python’s head. Its tongue was as wide as a table, but she didn’t hesitate. She grabbed onto the broken horn and planted her boots firmly on its scaled skull.

Raven’s now–enormous form pinned the golden python against the edge of the warehouse. No matter how wildly it thrashed, he didn’t budge. His paws locked down on the python’s weak spot.

The python writhed in fury, its muscles coiling and snapping in every direction, but Raven, now the size of a full–blown semi–truck, was like a living mountain crushing it into the ground.

On top of the snake’s head, Caroline pulled a massive power drill from her storage space. She didn’t waste a second and started sawing into the broken horn with full force.

The golden python screeched and flailed violently. In response, Raven bit down hard, his jaws locking around the snake’s body. But its scales were absurdly tough, Raven’s teeth couldn’t even pierce them.

Meanwhile, Caroline had already cut halfway through the horn.

The snake’s forked tongue lashed out, its fangs began to darken, seeping purple–black venom. A sickening stench began to fill the air.

Caroline’s eyes narrowed. Not good. She gritted her teeth and picked up

the pace.

Meanwhile, the golden python’s thrashing grew even more violent than before. It was throwing its full strength into the struggle, twisting and coiling with such force that Raven was being knocked off balance, stumbling left and right under the pressure. The snake snapped its blood–red jaws open again and again, trying to lift its head high enough to sink its venomous fangs into Raven’s body, but each time, Raven barely managed to keep it pinned.

Still, as the fight dragged on, Caroline could see it, Raven was weakening. Maintaining his massive form was draining him fast. He was fading.

Just as Caroline started to panic, there was a sharp crack, the golden python’s horn finally broke off.

At that exact moment, Caroline grabbed the massive golden horn with both arms, reached out to touch Raven’s fur, and shouted, “Raven!”

In an instant, the two of them vanished into her storage space.
