His Untamed Rose novel Chapter 120

At this point, Lumina saw no need to keep up a friendly façade.

She wanted her unwavering resolve to be crystal clear—Cedric needed to understand that she wasn’t playing some childish game of cat and mouse.

Hilton sighed at her sharp tone, something he’d never heard from her before. “Why put yourself through this? Why risk your own life?”

“Go back and tell Cedric I’m not joking. I won’t return with you,” Lumina replied coolly, turning her face away, her eyes edged with an unmistakable chill.

Hilton exhaled, resignation in his voice. “Ms. Jardin, I’m not here alone.”

Lumina looked up at him, her expression unreadable.

After a pause, Hilton added, “Mr. Royce is waiting outside.”

She clenched her fists in her sleeves, but outwardly, Lumina was the picture of composure. “It doesn’t matter who’s out there. My decision is made—no one can stop me.”

Hilton realized there was no reasoning with her. He shook his head, defeated. “Ms. Jardin, you’re being reckless. Did you really think that contacting Mrs. Royce in secret, or drugging Mr. Royce, would help you escape? Every single conversation you’ve had with her—Mr. Royce has known about it. There are eyes and ears everywhere in the Royce household. Even this car is bugged.”

Lumina froze, her heart thudding in her chest as she stared at him, her breath catching.

Hilton continued, “In the end, whether it’s the company or daily life, all the real power in the Royce family is in Mr. Royce’s hands. Mrs. Royce can’t help you. In fact, she’s only made your situation more obvious.”

“He… knows everything?” Lumina felt a chill shiver down her spine.

So that explained Cedric’s strange behavior—and why her plan last night had gone so smoothly.

He’d played along with her, drinking the juice she offered, joining her for a stroll by the lake, letting her think she was actually succeeding in her escape.

But really, he’d just let her flail under his watchful gaze.

He let her run out of tricks, let his patience run thin, then reeled her in, piece by piece.
