His Untamed Rose novel Chapter 2

Lumina lowered her gaze, her voice sweet and coy. “Of course. I missed you so much I couldn’t even eat.”

Cedric’s lips curled with a hint of a smile as he caught her chin, drawing closer for a kiss.

But Lumina suddenly leaned back, grabbing his wrist with a gentle smile. “Don’t forget, you have that presentation to give about your trip this afternoon.”

“It won’t matter,” he murmured, undeterred. His grip tightened on her chin as he pressed a possessive kiss to her lips.

She braced both hands against his chest, resisting him.

Annoyed by her pushback, Cedric abruptly stopped, his gaze scrutinizing her.

“I’m just worried you’ll be too worn out,” Lumina explained quickly, her voice so soft and sweet it could melt anyone’s heart, hoping to smooth over his irritation.

He looked down, his expression showing he was pleased by her answer, and replied in a husky tone, “Then let me be the one to rest this time.”

Well, there was no dodging it today, no matter what she said.

Lumina’s fingernails left red marks on his shoulders.

“Mr. Royce…”

...

Eventually, everything quieted down.

They hadn’t seen each other for a while, and Cedric’s pent-up energy was impossible to ignore.

At first, Lumina managed to keep her composure, but as things progressed, she lost herself completely in him.

Even in intimacy, Cedric always maintained that same cool, distant calm. Now, contented, he closed his eyes and rested.

He patted her lightly. “Go make me a cup of coffee and bring it to my office.”

She stretched out like a lazy cat, eyelids heavy and eyes flirtatious. “You’ve got that gorgeous new secretary for these things, don’t you? I’m not your assistant.”
