His Untamed Rose novel Chapter 27

Whether at the office or by his side, it was rare to see her wear such a gentle, warm expression.

Minka chatted with her for a bit longer before turning to Cedric, who had been glancing over curiously the whole time. “And who might this be?”

“Oh, this is my boss.” Lumina stepped forward and led Cedric over to make introductions.

Cedric, ever the gentleman, nodded politely to Minka. “Nice to meet you.”

“N-nice to meet you too.” The moment Minka realized he was someone important, she grew flustered, hastily untying her apron.

Lumina grinned. “I was bragging to my boss at work about how amazing your cooking is, and I made him so jealous! He insisted on coming to try it himself.”

Minka ducked her head, smiling shyly. “Oh, Lumina, you always exaggerate… I just make simple home-cooked meals. I’m afraid the big boss might not be used to such plain fare.”

“Not at all,” Cedric replied warmly, his smile easy and reassuring. He took a gift box from the driver, who had just retrieved it from the trunk, and handed it to Minka. “I’m sorry to drop in on you like this. Please accept this little token from me.”

Lumina’s eyes widened as she recognized the luxury skincare set—something with a price tag in the thousands. Surprise and curiosity flickered across her face. “When did you prepare this?”

She had thought he came on a whim, but clearly, he’d put thought into this visit.

“Oh my, this is far too generous, sir. I really can’t accept.” Minka didn’t know much about brands, but the elegant packaging alone told her it was expensive.

Lumina laughed. “Come on, just take it. My boss has more money than he knows what to do with and giving gifts is his favorite pastime.”

Minka shot her a mock-stern look. “You child, you never know when to hold your tongue.”

“Why is everyone chatting outside?”
