His Untamed Rose novel Chapter 58

Yadiel had grown up under strict discipline—never touching cigarettes or alcohol. Even on rare occasions when he did, it was only to be polite at obligatory gatherings.

Lumina’s steps halted, as if rooted to the floor. She felt utterly paralyzed, unable to take another step.

Now, even her last, feeble attempt at dignity had been stripped away, discarded right in front of him. She had no idea how to face Yadiel now.

He finished his cigarette, stubbed it out, and as he stood up, his gaze collided with hers.

Yadiel froze mid-stride. A small bit of ash fell onto the back of his hand, burning him, but he didn’t flinch.

They locked eyes for a moment. Lumina swallowed her panic and took a deep breath, pretending not to see him. She reached for the hospital room door.

“Don’t move.” Her grip tightened on the door handle. She let out a long sigh.

Yadiel strode over and, without warning, yanked the jacket off her shoulders and tossed it aside like something worthless.

Normally so calm and courteous, he seemed to be unraveling.

“Lumina, what’s going on with you?”

His voice came from behind, sharp and weighted with accusation. “Didn’t you say you were leaving? Then why—why would you do that with him? When you were with him, did you think at all about the children you’re carrying?”

“Do you think I wanted this?” Lumina’s eyes dropped, her lashes casting shadows over her vacant stare. She shook her head softly. “It’s no use. He knows I went to you for help. He knows you resigned and planned to move to Seaburg. I can’t get away. I can’t keep anything from him.”

As she spoke, her eyes filled with tears, drops falling silently onto the back of her hand.
