His Untamed Rose novel Chapter 75

The woman looked a little confused at first, but after a moment’s thought—well, a woman this stunning and poised could only be one of the boss’s guests.

“Please, go right in,” she said.

As Lumina stepped onto the grounds, the path beneath her feet was paved with rounded stones, flanked on both sides by neatly stacked bales of hay and bursts of colorful flowerbeds.

All along the way, trees had been expertly pruned and shaped into striking horse sculptures—each one unique, almost lifelike in their movement and character.

The farther she walked, the clearer the sounds became: the bright jingle of harness bells, the thunderous rhythm of hooves pounding against the earth.

In the distance, a man sat astride a gleaming black stallion. The horse galloped at breathtaking speed, its muscles rippling under its glossy coat, kicking up a swirling veil of dust as it charged forward.

The rider, poised and striking, exuded a quiet confidence. His smile was open and easy, his bearing that of someone utterly at home in the saddle.

Watching him, Lumina was reminded of the heroes she’d seen in movies—battle-hardened, undefeated champions, commanding every inch of the field.

His horsemanship was obvious even from afar. He handled the reins with practiced ease, controlling the animal’s pace with effortless precision.

When Soren spotted Lumina, a flicker of surprise and delight crossed his eyes. He slowed his horse to a graceful stop, then swung down in a fluid motion.

Accepting a towel from his assistant, he wiped the sweat from his brow, then jogged over to her. He was still catching his breath when he stopped in front of her, beads of sweat tracing the sharp lines of his face. His smile was warm and genuine, his gaze deep and unwavering as he looked at her.

Lumina reached into her bag and pulled out a pair of sleek navy-and-grey riding gloves, offering them with a gentle smile. “A little thank you, Mr. Royce, for helping me out last night.”

Soren paused, a bit taken aback, then accepted the gloves, holding them as if they were something precious. “You really didn’t have to. Just seeing you again is thanks enough.”

He recognized the brand—high-end, with a reputation for quality. His stables had partnered with them a few times before; he knew they weren’t cheap.

Lumina arched an eyebrow, her tone playfully reproachful. “If you say so, then I’ll just take them back. After all, the tag’s still on.”

She actually reached out as if to reclaim them.

But Soren caught her wrist before she could. His grip was gentle, but firm.

Lumina made no effort to pull away, meeting his gaze in silence.

He grinned. “It’s family tradition—once the Royces give a gift, it stays given.”
