His Untamed Rose novel Chapter 82

But Cedric was visibly in a foul mood, a dark cloud shadowing his brow.

Just moments ago, his estate’s security had relayed a message: Lumina had shattered a vase and was making a scene, threatening suicide.

The instant Cedric heard, he smashed the glass in his hand. “With so many of you watching her, you still let her break a vase? Am I employing a bunch of incompetents?”

The security guard on the other end barely dared to speak, mumbling a quick apology.

A sharp pain throbbed in Cedric’s temples. His anger made his voice cold and hoarse. “Take away everything in the house that could break. Keep an eye on her. I don’t want her with so much as a scratch.”

“If you can’t even handle this, you’re all fired. Every last one of you.”

He tossed his phone aside, pinched the bridge of his nose, and took a long, steadying breath. Unbelievable. One after another, everyone seemed so adept at threatening him with suicide.

He was just beginning to regain his composure when Tonia approached, dressed head-to-toe in soft pink.

Charity galas like this were all about elegance and decorum; her outfit was clearly out of place.

But Cedric barely commented. “Let’s go in.”

Escorting a date was just his way of giving the hosts some face. As for the woman’s taste or the rumors they’d spark, Cedric couldn’t care less.

Tonia, however, felt a pang of disappointment when he spared her only a passing glance, his eyes betraying zero admiration. But as she hooked her arm through that of the man who was the center of everyone’s attention, the swelling pride swallowed her earlier hurt.

“Isn’t Mr. Royce always attached to Lumina at these things? What’s happened—the world turned upside down and he brought someone else?”

“Told you, men always crave novelty. He spoiled Lumina long enough. Guess he finally got bored.”

“Good for them if they broke up. I’ve had my eye on her for ages. Tomorrow, I’m dragging her into bed for a wild night—”

Cedric, who never paid attention to idle gossip, suddenly turned, his gaze icy cold.
