His Untamed Rose novel Chapter 85

The room was shrouded in silence, the only light coming from a dim desk lamp casting long shadows across the floor.

On the bed, a thin, delicate figure huddled in the corner against the wall, her face hidden in the gloom.

Cedric stood at the doorway, watching her for a moment before stepping inside.

His slipper crunched unexpectedly against something on the floor.

Glancing down, he finally took in the chaos—shards of glass and scattered debris littered the floor.

His gaze fixed on the broken pieces, and only then did he realize what they were: the framed photo of the two of them that used to sit on the nightstand. Now, the frame was smashed beyond recognition, the photograph itself torn to pieces and tossed aside.

A shadow darkened his face, anger barely restrained.

He strode over, footsteps heavy and cold. Sitting on the edge of the bed, Cedric reached over and turned her toward him.

The instant Lumina was rolled over, she glared up at him, her face pale as paper, as if she'd lain there in that exact position for hours.

She wore a white nightgown, the loose fabric draped over her slight frame, making her seem even more fragile and heartbreakingly vulnerable.

For a brief moment, the anger faded from Cedric’s expression. He cupped her cheek in his palm; her skin was smooth and cool as porcelain, yet cold to the touch.

His fingers lingered on her face, absently tracing her jaw. “Smashed the vase, tore up our photo… What else do you have in you tonight? Go on, show me.”

Lumina used to be so obedient, always yielding to whatever he wanted. Even when she was stubborn, she’d never been this wild.

She stared at him, a cold, mocking smile flickering in her eyes.

A sharp, floral perfume clung to his hand, unmistakably feminine.

So he was touching her face with a hand that had just caressed another woman.

Lumina’s stomach twisted, bile rising in her throat, but she forced herself to keep it down.
