His Untamed Rose novel Chapter 89

After tending to her wounds, Lumina slipped back into bed, turning her back to Cedric as she tried to collect her thoughts and plan her next move.

Cedric dismissed the others, leaving just the two of them in the room.

He sat down at the edge of the bed, his gaze lingering on her delicate hair fanned across the sheets before he finally spoke. “Yael’s confessed some more.. You met with the Jardin family twice this year—once at your brother’s grave, and once at the hospital.”

She didn’t bother to turn around. “So, meeting my own parents is now considered evidence of being an accomplice?”

“Was anyone else present during those meetings?” Cedric pressed.

Lumina replied quietly, “At the hospital, Yadiel was there. He can vouch for me. Yael never mentioned anything about embezzlement.”

Cedric said nothing more, merely folding his arms and brushing a stray lock of hair from her forehead.

His touch was cold, almost chilling, sending an unexpected shiver down Lumina’s spine.

Could it be...?

She suddenly rolled over to face him, searching his expression.

Cedric gave a slight, indifferent nod, confirming her fears.

“Yadiel may not have come forward willingly, but he went along with everything Yael accused you of. He said that at the hospital, Yael brought up the embezzlement, and you didn’t just let it happen, you supposedly told him exactly how to cover his tracks.”

Lumina shot upright, so abruptly that the blanket slipped off and tumbled to the floor.

Yadiel...

No, something’s wrong—this can’t be! Yadiel had always been on her side. How could he possibly join Yael in framing her?

Panic swept over her, sharp and overwhelming.

“Stop it! This isn’t funny. Yadiel would never say something like that about me. I want to talk to him. I need to see him!”

“You can’t,” Cedric replied coldly. “And even if you could, what difference would it make? Do you really think he’d soften, or remember whatever affection you shared?”

His words shut down any last hope, and Lumina felt despair spread through her chest, threatening to swallow her whole.

Cedric paused, then asked, “Was there anyone else there who could defend you?”
