His Untamed Rose novel Chapter 91

Nancy stared at her in shock. “You… you’re pregnant with Mr. Royce’s child?”

Lumina’s voice was faint and desperate as she gripped Nancy’s wrist. “Please don’t tell him. Don’t tell Cedric. I’m begging you, Nancy.”

The news left Nancy speechless. But seeing how desperately Lumina pleaded, she couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt. She gently patted Lumina’s hand. “Alright, I won’t say anything. But… this is Mr. Royce’s child. Why won’t you tell him?”

Lumina didn’t answer. Her eyes squeezed shut, sweat beading across her forehead. She opened her mouth as if to speak, but not a single word came out.

Nancy dared not press further. She urged the driver to get them to the hospital as quickly as possible.

After the doctor examined Lumina, his face clouded over. “You’re at risk of miscarriage. Prepare yourself—there’s a chance you may lose the baby.”

“What? No, please, Doctor! Please, you have to help her!” Nancy went pale, pleading with all her might.

The doctor brushed off her hand with a frown and wheeled Lumina into the exam room.

Lumina lost consciousness as they pushed her into the hospital.

When she finally woke, dawn’s light was just breaking outside. Instinctively, her hand flew to her stomach. Relief washed over her.

“Ms. Jardin, you’re awake!” Nancy, who had been dozing in a chair, jolted up at the sound of Lumina stirring.

A relieved smile lit up Nancy’s face. “The baby’s alright. But the doctor said you need to take your medicine first.”

Lumina, pale and exhausted, managed a weak “Okay.”

Nancy handed her a steaming mug of bitter medicine. Lumina wrinkled her nose, pinched it shut, and choked down the liquid, her stomach roiling. She washed it down with a few gulps of water, then collapsed back onto the bed, her body aching, a dull pain lingering in her abdomen.

“The doctor said it was lucky we got you here in time. Otherwise, you might have lost the baby.”

Nancy looked shaken, her head bowed in regret. “It was the milk… this is all my fault. Mr. Royce said you hadn’t been sleeping well and told me to add a little something to help you rest. I never imagined it would make things worse.”

Lumina managed a weary smile. “You didn’t know. I don’t blame you.”

Suddenly, something occurred to her. Lumina’s eyes opened. “Where’s Cedric? He doesn’t know I’m here, does he?”

Nancy shook her head. “Mr. Royce only called once to ask about you. I lied—I told him you were home, resting peacefully. He told me not to worry, that he’d already found someone who could prove your innocence.”

Lumina, still groggy, blinked her eyes wide open. “He said he found a witness? Who?”
