Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 176

Amelia followed the manager up to the third floor, stopping outside the private suite where Mr. Arrowood was waiting.

Right away, she spotted two groups of bodyguards posted outside. One crew stood tall and disciplined, their military training obvious even in plain clothes. The other group all wore black, faces hard and cold, their muscles straining against their sleeves. There was something dangerous about them—a roughness that said they didn’t play by the rules.

Amelia put the pieces together instantly. Mr. Arrowood was here to meet two big shots, each from a very different world.

The manager dropped her off at the door and left in a hurry, clearly not interested in hanging around.

Amelia had already texted Mr. Arrowood from the elevator. She waited outside for a couple of minutes before the door finally opened and Mr. Arrowood stepped out to greet her.

He left the door half-open behind him, just wide enough for a sliver of light to spill out. Amelia couldn’t resist sneaking a look inside.

She caught a glimpse of a man’s profile. He wasn’t sitting properly—more like lounging carelessly in his chair, half-leaning against the back. But even in that lazy pose, there was something striking about him. His posture was relaxed, but his frame was long and graceful, and it made him look effortlessly elegant. Amelia could only see the lower half of his face, but the sharp, perfect lines of his jaw and those thin, well-shaped lips looked almost unreal—like someone had sculpted them by hand.

They looked… really kissable.

The thought flashed through her mind before she could stop it. Embarrassed, she quickly looked away.

This guy was too wild, too young. No way he was the one under military protection. Amelia shot a quick glance at the nearby black-clad bodyguard, whose fists looked big enough to break concrete.

She folded her hands neatly in front of her, forcing herself to focus on Mr. Arrowood as he walked over. Every stray thought vanished.

“Mr. Arrowood.”

“It’s been a while, Amelia.” The last time he’d seen her was seven years ago, at her graduation.
