Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 196

Twenty minutes later, Adrian’s car screeched to a stop outside the villa. He jumped out, grabbing his medical bag, and hurried inside—he hadn’t even bothered to change out of his slippers.

Donna was waiting anxiously at the door and wasted no time leading Adrian straight to Clive.

Clive was stretched out on the office sofa, but even the two-meter couch looked cramped with his broad frame sinking into it. His face was paper white, one hand pressed tightly to his stomach, sweat shining on his forehead as waves of pain washed over him.

Adrian quickly gave him an exam and checked his pulse. What he found made his heart sink.

Clive’s pulse was all wrong.

“How is this even possible?” Adrian muttered, clearly shaken.

“What is it, Dr. Reed? Is something wrong with Mr. Salmeron?” Donna’s hands twisted in her apron, worry creasing her face. She’d never seen Adrian look so unsure.

“Has Clive ever had anything like this before?” Adrian asked, his tone urgent.

Donna wasn’t a doctor, but she’d worked for the Salmerons forever. Clive had suffered in the past, but since he’d been with Mrs. Salmeron, his health had only gotten better…
