The other woman didn’t even bother hiding her attitude. She shot Clive a lazy look, eyes full of careless defiance.
Clive gritted his teeth. He’d never met her before, but something about her just rubbed him the wrong way.
Meanwhile, two security guards had dragged Liliana back and pinned her in place.
The moment Liliana saw Amelia, she panicked. “Miss, I know I messed up—I’m so sorry! Please, don’t call the police, okay? If I get a record, I’ll never find another job. It was all her idea!” She pointed straight at Kristen, her voice shaking as she spilled everything. “She paid me to trick you and lock you in the bathroom! She was hiding in the next stall and dumped a bucket of dirty water on you!”
This time, everyone heard it loud and clear.
Clive turned to Kristen, disbelief etched across his face. “Kristen, is that true?”
Kristen’s denial was instant and desperate. “Of course not! Salmeron, you have to believe me, I’d never do something like that. Amelia, this has to be a misunderstanding!”
She turned to Amelia, eyes red and watery, playing the victim. “Amelia, I really don’t know why she’s trying to frame me…”
“Frame you?” Amelia let out a cold laugh. Suddenly, she grabbed Kristen’s wrist and raised it high, so the sparkling diamond bracelet caught everyone’s attention.
Her voice was clear and sharp. “I saw exactly who threw that water at me—and she was wearing this bracelet.”
Kristen’s face paled.
Amelia stared right at Clive, her smile icy and tight. “Clive, this bracelet looks familiar, right? One of a kind, custom made, costs a fortune.”
She didn’t even need to add the bracelet’s tagline—love as strong as diamonds, loyal and unbreakable.
Her husband had bought it. For Kristen.
The only thing Amelia, the wife, got? The freebie that came with the purchase—a cheap watch.
