Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 254

That night, Amelia stayed at the villa with the kids. The little cakes she’d brought home were an instant hit—Timmy and Penny couldn’t get enough. Timmy, especially, was practically buzzing as he shared his big news: his team had made it through the coding competition’s prelims. They were going to nationals.

Amelia was genuinely happy for him. At his age, he was already shining so bright—so different from how she’d grown up, always having to keep her talents under wraps.

“Do you think I can win first place?” Timmy asked, showing off his project with hopeful eyes.

Every mom thinks their kid is the best, but Amelia knew the world didn’t always work that way. No matter how talented you are, there’s always someone else out there.

She thought for a moment, then smiled. “I can’t promise you’ll win, sweetheart. There are a lot of talented people out there. But what matters most is that you enjoy the process. Just getting to compete with the best is already something special.”

Enjoying the journey really was more important than the result.

Timmy took her words seriously, nodding like a little grown-up. “Yeah, if I don’t win this time, I’ll just try again next year. I’m learning a lot and making so many friends.”

“My Timmy is amazing.” Amelia cupped his chubby cheeks, completely smitten, and kissed his forehead.

Timmy froze, not used to all this affection. But seeing the happiness in his mom’s eyes, he swallowed his protest. Maybe a kiss now and then was okay.

“Oh, and one more thing!” Timmy suddenly remembered. “If you’re free, could you be our advisor for the finals? Kyle wants his uncle to help—he says his uncle’s a computer genius. But I think you’re even smarter.”

Timmy had secretly looked up Amelia’s background online and was completely blown away. Everyone used to say he got his smarts from his dad—he’d even believed it himself. But after spending more time with his mom, he had to admit: Dad was smart, but Mom was on a whole different level.

Amelia was caught off guard but deeply touched. “Of course I’ll help, honey. If you need me, I’ll be there.”

For all his maturity, Timmy was still just five, and he couldn’t hide his excitement. “Awesome! I’m telling Kyle right now. His uncle’s not the best hacker—my mom is!”

He started typing away, opening up an encrypted chat.

Timmy: My mom said yes—she’s our advisor now. Tell your uncle not to bother.

Kyle: What?

Amelia caught a rare glimpse of her son being playful and just let him be. It was getting late, and Penny needed a bath.
