Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 275

Amelia left a comment under the post, totally deadpan.

Amelia: [Those pajamas haven’t been washed in five years? Honestly, they’re perfect for you.]

She even threw in a thumbs-up emoji for good measure.

Without a second thought, she blocked and deleted Kristen, then set her alarm, switched her phone to sleep mode, and curled up under the covers. She was out like a light in no time, sleeping better than she had in days.

Meanwhile, Clive was having the worst night ever. He tossed and turned, wide awake, his mind refusing to settle. And when he finally did drift off, his dreams were a nonstop parade of Amelia—always surrounded by guys, every type you could imagine. He’d fight one off and another would show up, endless and exhausting.

By morning, he felt like he’d actually gone a few rounds in real life.

His phone started buzzing loudly on the nightstand, dragging him out of his restless sleep. He groaned, rubbed his forehead, and grabbed his phone, squinting at the caller ID before picking up.

“Dad…” he mumbled.

“Clive! Are you trying to ruin us? You got into a bar fight and now you’re all over the news! Do you have any idea how embarrassing this is for me and the company?” Klaus Bailey’s furious voice blasted through the speaker, snapping Clive fully awake.

Clive barely took a breath before opening his phone and checking the trending topics. There it was, right at the top: [Salmeron Corporation CEO Clive Caught in Jealous Bar Brawl! Perfect Image in Ruins!]

He clicked the link and saw the video. Last night’s fight was everywhere, already shared hundreds of thousands of times. The bar was dark and the footage was grainy—just silhouettes, no clear faces.

Still, Clive’s first instinct was to deny everything. “Dad, that’s not me. Someone’s trying to set me up—”

Klaus cut him off with a harsh laugh. “Watch the whole video before you try to lie to me!”

Clive couldn’t even bring himself to watch it all. He skipped to the end—and there it was. The bar owner himself, on camera, doing an interview and outing him completely.

The guy looked straight at the reporter and said, “Yeah, Clive Salmeron was here last night, totally wasted. Slept it off in my back room. Didn’t expect the CEO of Salmeron to lose his temper like that—just started swinging at people. One of my regulars only wanted to dance with a girl, and Clive went after him. I almost got punched trying to break it up!”
