Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 378

"Andrew."

Andrew glanced up as soon as he heard Amelia’s voice. Through his glasses, his usually calm eyes flashed with a hint of surprise.

Amelia was wearing a red dress tonight—sleek, bold, and elegant. Red had always been her color. It brought out her confidence, making her look vibrant but never over-the-top. Her features were delicate and striking, and the pop of red only made her beauty stand out more. She had that cool, almost untouchable vibe, the kind that made people want to stare but never made them uncomfortable.

Andrew opened the car door for her with an easy smile. “Ms. Sadinton, you look incredible tonight.”

Amelia smiled back. “Thank you. Maybe I should start looking this good every day.”

She’d always known she was attractive, but she’d never cared much about dressing up. When she was with Clive, he never stopped nitpicking about her style. He wanted her quiet, plain, and unremarkable.

It wasn’t until now that Amelia realized Clive’s constant criticism was just his way of dealing with his own insecurities. He hated that he relied on her, hated that her career outshined his. So he tried to dim her light whenever he could.

Not anymore. From now on, she was going to shine—inside and out.

At nine sharp, Amelia showed up at city hall.

Five minutes later, Clive’s white Bentley pulled up.

Clive looked exhausted, only opening his eyes when the car came to a stop. Today, Aiden was driving instead of the regular chauffeur—he’d gotten food poisoning last night, so Aiden just took over without bothering to find a replacement.

Honestly, Aiden could have gone without the hassle, but deep down, he just wanted to see how things played out. He’d always rooted for Clive and Amelia as a couple, and now he was about to watch them officially end it.

The moment Aiden saw Amelia waiting at the entrance, he almost didn’t recognize her. She looked so different—so stunning—that he had to blink and rub his eyes. Was this really Mrs. Salmeron?

She looked amazing. Her figure was flawless—slim but with curves in all the right places.

Then he glanced at Clive, who looked like he hadn’t slept in days, dark circles under his eyes and his face pale.

For the first time, Aiden wondered if Clive was even a match for Amelia anymore—at least not in the looks department.

“Clive, we’re here. Mrs. Salmeron is waiting for you,” Aiden said.

Clive saw her too.

That bright red dress burned into his mind. He let out a low, unreadable chuckle.

So, she got all dressed up like this just to get a divorce? Or was she second-guessing everything now, hoping to change his mind?

Clive straightened his jacket, climbed out of the car, and walked toward her.

People nearby couldn’t help but stare. Two guys almost ran into each other because they weren’t watching where they were going.
