Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 419

Amelia had always had a soft spot for kids, especially her own. So when Will suggested they go shopping, she just couldn’t say no.

“Okay, let’s go look around,” she agreed.

The whole way through the mall, Amelia held tightly to Timmy’s hand, her focus never straying from her son. After missing out on five years of his life, she was desperate to catch up. She wanted to buy him everything—anything he might need or want.

She rarely spent money on herself, but when it came to Timmy, she didn’t hesitate. Soon, her arms were full of shopping bags. She even picked out a few things for Penny.

“That’s enough, Mom,” Timmy finally piped up, tugging on her sleeve. “You can buy more next time, okay? I’m growing so fast. If you buy too much now, I’ll outgrow it all before I can wear it.”

Those two words—“next time”—hit Amelia right in the heart. She reached out, gently touching Timmy’s cheek, nearly tearing up.

“Alright. Next time,” she promised softly.

From now on, there would be so many more “next times” for them.

Will watched them from behind, his expression softening at the sight.

“Hey, Uncle,” Kyle nudged him with his elbow, “aren’t you going to pay?”

Will tapped Kyle on the head. “Go play your game. You can walk yourself home later.”

There would be plenty of opportunities to show Amelia he cared, but tonight was about her. She was buying clothes for Timmy and Penny, trying to make up for lost time as a mom. All Will wanted was to help her carry the bags.

The sales associate nearby, quick on the uptake, flashed a knowing smile.

“Sir, your girlfriend has great taste.”

Will’s eyes lingered on Amelia, a slow smile spreading across his face. “Thanks. She’s not my girlfriend—at least not yet.”

When they left the store, Will took all the shopping bags and walked right by Amelia’s side. With Amelia holding Timmy’s hand, from a distance they looked just like a real family.
