Chapter 126
Alla POV
“Even if I am a dog, I’m one loyal to my master. You’re worse than a beast.” With that, Luca made a gesture inviting Cain
to leave.
My resolute attitude made Cain realize I would never be used by him, so he needed to find another approach.
He immediately thought of his daughter Maria, who had been friends with Marco years ago.
In Cain’s mind, Maria would only need to employ a few tactics, and Marco would surely become a second Gabriel.
Marco forcibly brought me back to the room. I was so angry I began coughing violently. I hated myself–hated my uselessness, hated that I couldn’t do anything to Cain.
“Alia Marco embraced me, trying to comfort me softly, but I couldn’t hear anything he said and accidentally stepped on
his foot.
I knew I shouldn’t misdirect my anger at Marco, but just thinking about Cain’s face made it impossible to control my
temper.
Alia, you need to calm down,” Marco said, patting my back. “Your mother wouldn’t want to see you like this. You need to
be strong.”
When Marco mentioned my mother, I instantly quieted down. I looked at him with a small smile. “I feel dizzy. I need to lie down for a while.”
Marco grabbed my arm as I tried to escape, his deep gaze studying me for a moment before pulling me tightly into his embrace. “Alia, if you’re upset, talk to me.”
I hung my head without making a sound.
Marco cupped my chin, lifting my face, but I closed my eyes and murmured, “I’m so tired.”
Marco knew I didn’t want to reveal my feelings to him and reluctantly let me go. “Go rest then.”
“Mm.” I responded softly, returning to bed and staring fixedly at the ceiling.
“Alia- Marco sat beside me and called my name, but I didn’t respond, my gaze seemingly locked on the ceiling.
Marco turned my head toward him, making me look at him. “Alia, I’m here. Don’t be afraid.”
“Ah-” I blinked in surprise, then smiled faintly. “I’m fine. Don’t worry.”
I closed my eyes and sighed softly. “I’m exhausted.”
Marco sighed helplessly and pulled the blanket over me. “Sleep then.”

Chapter 126
After hitting a wall with Alla, Cain spent the entire day thinking about how to approach Marls and convince her close to Marco.
More importantly, Maria still carried the title of Gabriel’s flancée, so the Castros would need to approve as well
Of course, he couldn’t directly ask Maria to seduce Marco. He needed to find a way to make her take the initiative, which would make it easier to control her later.
As he was contemplating this, Gabriel showed up.
Gabriel looked at Cain and smiled. “Uncle Rossi, you went to see the Godfather. How did it go? Was Alia willing to see her
father?”
Cain stared at Gabriel for a long while before responding. “This mess was created by you. You should know exactly what the outcome would be.”
Gabriel sat down, poured himself a cup of tea, took a sip, and said, “I’ve heard that Maria and Marco were schoolmates in America. They have a history. If we want someone to get close to Marco, I can’t think of anyone more suitable than her.
“So you agree to let Maria approach Marco?” Cain had been worried about how to bring this up with Gabriel, but now that Gabriel had mentioned it himself, things would be much easier.
“Why not?” Gabriel replied.
To him, María was merely a tool for satisfying his desires. If she could still be useful in this way, why not make the most
of it?
The Castro family’s stocks were still falling. If they couldn’t find a way to change Marco’s mind, the future of the Castro family looked grim.
The Castro family had no time to waste; they needed to act quickly.
