Married to Mafia Boss novel Chapter 39

Chapter 39

Aria’s POV

Since Red Scorpion Group canceled their collaboration with Cortez Tech on the Phantom Game project, the atmosphere in the office has grown increasingly

tense.

Cortez Tech’s stock has plummeted, and despite the PR team working overtime, their efforts have yielded minimal results. Every news outlet in Postane seems to be covering the business war between these two companies.

Marco, as Cortez Tech’s CEO, is at the center of the storm.

Since yesterday when he respected my wishes and agreed to let me stay in the business department, I’ve barely seen him. He’s been in constant emergency meetings with the board, investors, and PR consultants.

When I returned to my workstation, I saw Antonio and Tina huddled with other colleagues, whispering among themselves. They noticed me approaching and quickly dispersed.

Great. Now I’m the office outcast. Could things get any worse?

On the other side of the city, Gabriel Castro leaned back in his leather chair, watching news reports of Cortez Tech’s plummeting stocks with a cold smirk on his face.

A small tech company CEO thought he could challenge me?he muttered, swirling the amber liquor in his crystal glass.

His trusted assistant Ricardo walked into the office with a tablet in hand. Sir, our sources confirm that Vittorio has been in PR meetings all day. He’ll be quite busy for a while.

Gabriel nodded with satisfaction. And Aliya?

Her job seems unaffected. Vittorio must have protected her position.

Gabriel raised an eyebrow slightly. Interesting, he’s competing with me for a woman. He put down his glass and leaned forward. What about the Black Hawk Council?

That’s precisely what I wanted to report,Ricardo said, his expression turning serious. We’ve received intelligence that Vittorio might have connections to the Black Hawk Council. I’m mobilizing family resources to verify this information.

Gabriel’s smile disappeared. Don’t celebrate too early, Ricardo. The real show is just beginning. What fun would it be if Vittorio were crushed by me with one hand?

Sir, if I may, he’s just the CEO of a tech company-

Gabriel’s voice sharpened. Do you think I’m talking nonsense?

Ricardo paled. No, sir. Of course not.

Good. Gabriel stood up and walked to the window. Arrange for someone to monitor Vittorio. I want to know his every move.

Would you like me to book a hotel for you and Miss Rossi tonight?Ricardo asked.

Gabriel’s expression turned cold: Get out.

After Ricardo left, Gabriel’s thoughts returned to three years ago.

Aliya, you were only nineteen,he recalled, still in your sophomore year of college when we were dating. Our relationship remained a secret affair between the Red Scorpion’s secondincommand and a brighteyed design student.

Chapter 39

That night, in my penthouse apartment, when you were nestled in my arms, Aliya.

I proposed that we get engaged first, then marry after you graduated.

At that moment, I thought you would refuse, but to my surprise, you agreed immediately, your reason was simple.

You said: I’ve always been preparing to be your bride. You can reserve me now, and when I’m good enough, it will be time to marry you.

Even if you had nothing, I wouldn’t leave

You, you leased me.

Gabriel’s hand tightened around his glass.

This time, I will use every means necessary you back under my control!

In the office, my phone rang with an unknown number.

Aliya Rossi. The familiar voice on the other end made my blood run cold.

Gabriel,I whispered, looking around to ensure no one could hear me.

Meet me at Caffè Bello in one hour,he said, his tone leaving no room for refusal.

I won’t come-

You can, and you will, he interrupted. You can choose not to come, but face the consequences. Cortez Tech will pay the price for your decision.

My heart skipped a beat. What do you want?

One hour. Second floor by the window. The call ended.

I sat frozen, my mind racing.

If I didn’t go, he would definitely escalate his attacks against Marco and Cortez Tech. I couldn’t risk it.

An hour later, I stood across from Caffè Bello, my legs feeling like lead.

As I approached, I glanced up at the secondfloor window. There he wasGabriel Castro, raising his cup to me with that familiar smile on his face.

I took a deep breath and walked in, even though I knew I was walking into the lion’s den.
