Married to Mafia Boss novel Chapter 92

Chapter 92

Alia POV

Once such explosive news spread, Cortes business department would likely he flooded with new contracts.

Just thinking about it made me so happy.

I straightened my clothes, sat up tall, and prepared to face my new work with the best attitude.

In my excitement, I naturally didn’t forget about Marco. I took out my phone and sent him a WeChat message: So you knew all along that the Castoro family couldn’t really harm Cortes, but you didn’t tell me. Hmph.

My message had a hint of playfulness that I wasn’t even aware of.

I quickly received Marco’s reply: I told you to trust me.

Indeed, he had told me early on to trust him, but I had put too much faith in the Castoro family’s power and hadn’t fully trusted Marco.

My fingers moved again, sending another message: You meanie!

I quickly received Marco’s response: Mm.

Mm?

Seeing Marco’s oneword reply, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. What did mmmean?

Was he admitting that he was a meanie?

And a cold, taciturn meanie at that?

Despite Marco’s brief reply, the corners of my mouth turned up involuntarily, and my heart felt sweet.

Of course, I couldn’t see that the man texting with me also had a slight smile, his eyes as brilliant as the night sky, filled with gentle amusement.

Not long after, the HR department sent out another announcement.

All employees would have the day off, and in the evening, the company would host a dinner for all staff at the Ritz Hotel. Everyone was encouraged to return to work tomorrow with renewed energywith a special note that Mr. Vittorio would also attend the dinner.

Such generosity could only come from superwealthy companies like Black Hawk Group.

It wasn’t hard to connect this to how Cortes Tech had recently been able to send employees to vacation at the luxurious Bellavista Estate.

My colleagues excitedly cheered, Long live Mr. Vittorio! Long live Black Hawk! Long live Cortes Tech!

Everyone cheered while packing up their things.

The female employees were eager to go home and make themselves look beautiful. Opportunities to appear before the CEO were rare, so they wanted to make the most of this chance.

As I was tidying my desk, I received a WeChat message. Opening it, I saw it was from Marco, with just two simple words: Come up.

Come up?

I stared at those two words on my phone screen, thinking. Marco must be asking me to come up to his office.

But why would he call me to his office?/

Although I couldn’t think of a reason, 1 slowed down my packing, planning in wait until all my colleagues had left before quietly going to Marco’s office.

Alin, want to leave together? Tina asked as she passed by my desk.

Before I could answer, Jessica rushed over and pulled Tina away: Alia’s busy. You’d better come with me.

After I finished packing, I looked around to make sure all my colleagues had left before picking up my bag and walking out of the office.

At the elevator, I looked around again to check if anyone was there. Seeing no one, I entered the elevator with relief and pressed the button for the 23rd Door.

Despite my caution, I didn’t escape a pair of eyes watching from the shadows.

Those cold eyes watched me enter the elevator, saw the indicator light stop at the 23rd floor, and then sent a text message: We can start our plan now.

When I reached the 23rd floor, as the elevator doors opened, I first peeked out to make sure no one else was there.

Mrs. Vittorio, don’t worry, everyone’s gone for the day,Luca said with a smile as he approached.

I smiled awkwardly. Are only you and Giulio staying to work late with Mr. Vittorio?

Luca smiled and said, If Mr. Vittorio is still working, how could we take time off?

Do you know why he wanted to see me?Since Marco was still busy, I thought it might be better not to disturb him.

That’s between you and your husband. Mr. Vittorio wouldn’t tell us,Luca said as he led me toward Marco’s office.

Luca’s tone was so straightforward that Alia couldn’t help blushing again.

The outer office area, where the CEO’s staff worked, was now empty since everyone had gone home, leaving the entire floor feeling spacious and quiet.

I thought about how considerate Marco was as a bossall the other secretaries had been given time off while he was still working. I wondered what kept

him so busy.

Of course, as a basic department employee, I had no idea what the highandmighty CEO actually did all day.

To be honest, I wasn’t very good at my parttime role as the CEO’s secretaryI didn’t even know what the CEO did every day.

Luca added, Mr. Vittorio is in his office. I won’t accompany you inside.

Okay,I nodded.

Although this wasn’t my first visit to the CEO’s office, and the man sitting inside was my husband, I still felt somewhat awkward.

I politely knocked on the door and only pushed it open after hearing Come in.

Marco was on the phone. When he saw me enter, he glanced at me and gestured for me to wait a moment.

Marco was speaking entirely in French on this call, using professional terminology that I couldn’t understand.

I couldn’t help looking around. The office decor matched what I knew of Marco’s stylesimple and neat.

After a few minutes, Marco finished his call and looked at me. Why aren’t you sitting down?

In my mind, this was the CEO’s grand office. Since he hadn’t invited me to sit, how could I, a mere employee, dare to sit down on my own?

Did you need me for something? I ignored his question and asked my own.

Do I need a reason to call for you?

Muten raised an evebrow slightly and said, Overtime.

you want me to work overtime here?: 1 pointed at myself, then emphasized, The company sent an email giving everyone the day off

Triple pay, Marco said briefly, glancing at me before lowering his head to focus on his work again.

Triple!

That word was very attractive. For the money, I agreed, smiling and asking, So what can I do?

Keep me company, Marco said without looking up.

Hearing this, I felt my face grow hot, probably blushing again.

His tone was commanding, but to my ears, it made my heart feel sweet. I said in a voice only I could hear, Oh, okay.

I hoped to spend more time by his side, to understand him better, so that our future days together would be more harmonious.

Being able to stay by his side now, while also earning money, was a winwin situation. How could I not be willing?

But Marco was truly busy. When he was working, he had no time to pay attention to me, with one phone call after another coming in.
