Chapter 91
Alia POV
Jessica mentally added, ‘Both wearing limited edition matching scarves from that brand–only a fool would believe they just happened to run into each other.
Tina scratched her head, seeming to understand a little better.
Iran quickly back to where Marco and I had separated. I had never felt like this before, so desperately wanting to see Marco.
When I reached our parting spot, there was no sign of him. I circled the area but still couldn’t find him.
Growing anxious, I finally remembered I had my phone. I quickly took it out and called him.
Marco’s deep, sexy voice came through: “What is it?”
“Where are you? I’m at the place where we just separated, but I can’t find you,” I said urgently.
There was a pause on the other end before Marco asked, “Why did you come back?”
Without overthinking, I replied, “Because I want to go shopping with you.”
Then I heard Marco ask, “Not afraid anymore?”
I pressed my lips together and said softly, “Not when you’re with me. With you here, I’m not afraid.”
Another long silence followed from his end, making me even more anxious. “Where are you?” I asked.
Marco’s pleasant voice came through my phone again: “Turn around.”
Following his instruction, I turned and saw Marco’s tall figure standing just a few steps behind me, quietly and tenderly watching me.
Seeing him, inexplicably, my heart immediately settled.
Marco strode to my side, gently pulled me into his arms, and softly stroked my head, whispering, “I’ve been here all along.”
If only I had been willing to turn around, I would have seen him waiting for me in the same place.
In that moment, I felt a warm current slowly flowing into my heart. Like a little kitten, I nuzzled against Marco’s chest.
With Marco here, we would never be apart again!
From the outside, the Castoro family’s suppression appeared to have caused devastating damage to Cortes Tech. Many Cortes employees were busy looking for new employers, but within Cortes’s upper management, everything remained calm, as if the raging fire hadn’t reached them at all.
In the CEO’s office on the 23rd floor, Marco stood by the floor–to–ceiling window, his piercing gaze quietly surveying the thriving metropolis of Positano below.
Cortes Tech had been established relatively early but had developed slowly. If they hadn’t purchased this plot of land and built this building years ago, their situation might have been worse than it was now.
Positano’s economy had developed rapidly in recent years, with property values skyrocketing. The Cortes building was located in the heart of downtown, a prime location coveted by many. The building could now sell for thousands of times its original price.
Black Hawk’s acquisition of Cortes Tech wasn’t motivated by its products but by this piece of land that everyone wanted.

Chapter 91
Knock, knock-
Giulio entered after knocking: “Mr. Vittorio, everything is proceeding according to your plan. Many companies have voluntarily terminated their contracts with Cortes and stated they won’t cooperate with Cortes in the future. Their actions have saved us considerable work in eliminating those fence–sitting companies.”
“Mm. Marco responded with a soft sound without turning his head, making it impossible to guess what he was thinking.
Marco didn’t give any further instructions. After waiting a moment, Giulio asked, “Should we announce to the company that Black Hawk acquired Cortes some time ago?
Announce it, Marco decisively replied with just two words.
Giulio hesitated, then added, “Mr. Vittorio, Gabriel Castoro wants to meet with you.‘
Marco turned to look at Giulio, his tone neither cold nor warm: “I don’t see anyone from the Castoro family. Haven’t you remembered that yet?”
Giulio understood that Gabriel had truly angered his boss. Dealing with someone like Gabriel was as simple as raising a finger for his boss.
Meanwhile, Gabriel was still trying to find ways to meet the Godfather, unaware that he had already met him and had gravely offended him.
Precisely because he didn’t know he had offended the Godfather, Gabriel was still trying to find ways to meet Giulio’s boss.
A person is at their most foolish when they’ve already lost but still believe they have the upper hand.
Giulio continued, “Sabrina spread some messy rumors a few days ago, saying you like beautiful women. Gabriel is thinking about sending women your way.”
At the mention of Sabrina, Marco’s calm expression finally showed a slight change. He sighed silently, ‘Have someone keep an eye on that girl. Don’t let her cause any more trouble. Next time I catch her, I’ll bring her back even if I have to tie her up.”
Only that little girl dared to make such mischief, completely ruining their boss’s image, yet their boss merely sighed in resignation.
As soon as the CEO’s office released the information that Black Hawk had already acquired Cortes Tech, the entire company erupted in excitement.
They were excited not only because Cortes had been acquired by such a massive financial group as Black Hawk, but also because all current employees would be retained, and everyone’s salary and benefits would be increased based on their seniority and performance.
“My goodness, so Cortes was acquired by Black Hawk six months ago!”
‘So Mr. Vittorio is the person Black Hawk sent to take over management of Cortes.”
“Yes, yes! The most fortunate thing is that we can continue working at Cortes, and now we have Black Hawk as our powerful backer. We no longer need to fear the Castoro family bullying us.”
Even though I usually avoid gossip, I enthusiastically discussed this with my colleagues for a while before returning to my desk.
Black Hawk had acquired Cortes Tech six months ago, which meant Gabriel’s influence could no longer affect Cortes.
For me, this meant not only job stability and a raise but also no more worries about Gabriel daring to do anything to Marco–truly exciting news.
The dark cloud hanging over my colleagues seemed to dissipate in an instant. Everyone was so excited about this tremendous news that they could barely contain themselves.
Not only did they not have to find new jobs and adapt to new environments, but their employee benefits would also improve. Who could remain calm about that?
Black Hawk Group–a financial conglomerate that countless people would do anything to join. For Cortes‘ long–time employees, this was like manna from heaven.

Chapter 91
Despite all the trouble Gabriel had caused, Marco had maintained his composure. I thought he might not have a way to deal with it.
But it turned out he had Black Hawk as his powerful backer, so of course he wouldn’t worry.
Black Hawk was the powerhouse everyone wanted to align with. Even for the Castoro family, one of the country’s top families, Black Hawk was a peak they could only look up to but never surpass.
In light of this, Gabriel’s previous actions now seemed like those of a clown. If he wanted to cooperate with Cortes in the future, he probably wouldn’t have the chance.
