Alia Pov
Various surprised looks, whispers, and pointing fingers…
The scene felt like a return to three years ago.
insuits, accusations, and mockery filled the air.
People who had nothing to do with me, who knew nothing of the truth, stood ready to judge and condemn based on mere hearsay,
These people positioned themselves on moral high ground, self–righteously criticizing others, unaware they were simply following the crowd in hurting someone else.
The massive LED screen continued displaying photos from my past as the eyes of hundreds of company employees fixed on me.
Once again, I had become the target of everyone’s arrows.
A dog can never change its habit of eating shit. She knew Mr. Vittorio had a wife, yet she still did such things.”
Finally, someone broke the silence, and a cascade of discussions followed.
“Truly, appearances can be deceiving, and the sea’s depth immeasurable.”
“Yes, yes! She seemed like such a nice girl, but turns out she’s someone’s mistress.”
“Mr. Vittorio probably doesn’t know about her past. If he did, he wouldn’t be with her.”
I could tolerate most comments, as they no longer had the power to hurt me, but this last remark struck a nerve.
I didn’t care what others thought or said about me, but I did care about Marco’s opinion, whether he would believe me.
I had always been afraid to tell Marco about my past, about my family and relatives, because they were all so disgraceful.
Marco was so exceptional–his words, actions, behavior, work abilities, knowledge, appearance–no matter from which angle you looked, he was perfect.
Sometimes, I felt Marco was like a rare treasure in a museum–others could admire him from afar, but never possess him.
I didn’t want Marco to look down on me, to despise my family, to think I was the kind of woman who casually seduced men.
Marco-
How would he see me now?
Would he be like these people?
Lost in thought, I heard someone say:
“Manager Berti, Alia is an employee in your department. Say something.
Berti, under everyone’s prompting, “reluctantly took the stage and said into the microphone: “Alia is an employee in the business department. Her work performance is as you all have seen. As for her private life, that’s her personal matter, and I really can’t control that.”
They say the nail that sticks out gets hammered down. Berti wasn’t stupid. Even if she was involved in this incident, she would remain in the shadows, never stepping out to offend anyone.
Let the foolish Camila be the one to expose everything–after all, she was willing to do anything to get revenge on me.

Chapter 98
After today’s commotion, I would no longer have the face to stay at Cortés Technology, while my direct superior, by continuing to play the innocent, would remain the business department manager at Cortes.
Now that Cortes had been acquired by Black Hawk, this managerial position was even more important to her, and I was an existence she absolutely couldn’t
tolerate.
Antonio looked at me, shaking his head in disappointment. His eyes seemed to say: once he had regarded me as a goddess, but now he realized I was that kind of woman, doing so many shameless things.
Jessica observed me without showing any emotion, only the slight upward curve of her lips revealing her true thoughts–eagerly awaiting the drama,
The gazes of other colleagues from the business department also fell on me, all with an attitude of watching a good show.
Alia… Tina looked at me, gently tugging at my sleeve. “Is all this true?”
Is all this true?
Some things were originally false, but after being passed around so many times, who could tell what was true and what was false?
I took a deep breath, straightened my back, raised my head, and walked to the stage in my five–inch heels, standing firm beneath the LED screen.
With a slight curl at the corner of my lips and a faint smile, I swept my gaze across all those who were laughing at me.
Indeed, the looks in their eyes were full of disdain and contempt, as if I were an unforgivable criminal.
I picked up another microphone and said with a slight smile: ‘I don’t care who is behind all this today, but I reserve the right to pursue legal responsibility.”
“Heh… Camila, who had arrived at the scene at some point, sneered disdainfully, You once seduced your future brother–in–law, went to hotels with men, and now you’re seducing the married Mr. Vittorio.”
Hearing Camila’s voice, I turned to look at her, fixing her with an ambiguous smile.
Camila, finding my gaze unsettling, quickly averted her eyes and continued, “You shameless bitch, you have the nerve to talk about legal responsibility? If anyone should be sued, it’s you, you shameless homewrecker.”
So it really was Camila behind all this, but I believed that Camila alone wasn’t enough. There must be someone else.
But who could that person be?
My gaze shifted slightly, falling on Berti beside her, as I recalled what Berti had said to me earlier.
However, Berti and Camila were people I had only met in Portano. Given their backgrounds, they shouldn’t be able to dig up my past, especially not in such
detail.
Behind them…
There must be someone else.
Was it Gabriel, or… Maria?
Gabriel, though a despicable person, wouldn’t go so far as to use public opinion to persecute a woman without power or influence.
Besides, today’s scene was so similar to what happened three years ago, and the director of that show back then…
Maria, oh Maria, you truly are my “good” sister
I spared you out of the last shred of sisterly affection, leaving my homeland to start anew, yet why do you still pursue me so relentlessly?
Don’t you know that even a rabbit will bite when cornered?

Chapter 98
I narrowed my eyes slightly, shaking my head with a bitter smile, when someone else shouted: “A woman like you should resign and get out of the company! Don’t stay and embarrass us anymore.”
Another voice chimed in: ‘If Manager Berti won’t handle it, and HR doesn’t want to get involved, why don’t we wait for Mr. Vittorio to come and let him deal with it?
Let Mr. Vittorio come. Let Mr. Vittorio deal with it.
Hearing these words, my body involuntarily trembled slightly.
Though a smile remained on my face, inside I was gradually becoming panicked and confused.
But beyond panic, my heart surged with boundless hatred.
How would Marco see me?
Would Marco believe I was that kind of woman?
The happiness I had worked so hard to obtain–was it about to be cruelly destroyed under my sister’s scheming?
