“Should I come with you?” Derick asked me as I helped Lyra get her hair fixed.

I glanced up at him and smiled softly. “No, you shouldn’t stress yourself. Just go and focus on your Alpha

duties.”

He leaned against the wall with his arms folded, his dark eyes watching me closely. “You’re sure? I can ask the driver to take you and the kids to the mall. It’ll be safer.”

I shook my head quickly. “You don’t have to, Derick. I can drive. I’ll take the kids with me. We’ll be fine.”

He hesitated for a moment, then nodded. “Okay, if that’s fine with you.”

I walked over to him, kissed him goodbye, and smiled. “Don’t worry. I’ll call you if anything comes up.”

He brushed a loose strand of hair from my face. “Alright. Be careful, Raven.”

“I will.”

With that, I took the kids by the hand and led them out of the house. We stepped into the cool afternoon breeze as we made our way to the parking lot.

The sunlight bounced off the black SUV parked near the gate.

I opened the door, helped Lyra and Lucian

climb into their seats, and adjusted their seatbelts carefully before sliding into the driver’s seat.

“Ready?” I asked with a grin.

I smiled and started the car. As we drove out of the pack house, I felt a small wave of relief. It had been a long

Their laughter filled the car, and I couldn’t help but smile. “Alright, but not too much,” I said playfully.

They squealed with joy, their voices echoing through the car. I laughed softly and shook my head. They were my everything, the light in my darkest days.

Half an hour later, we finally arrived at the mall. It was huge, with bright lights decorating the entrance and soft music playing in the background. I parked the car, helped the twins out, and we walked inside together.

The place was buzzing with life people shopping, laughing, and carrying bags filled with things they probably didn’t even plan to buy.

added, tugging at my hand.

“Come on,” I said, smiling. “Let’s go to the kids‘ section first.”

We wandered through aisles of tiny clothes, shoes, and toys. I picked out matching outfits for them: one light blue, one soft pink, and a few pairs of shoes. Derick had mentioned his father’s 60th birthday coming up in two months, so I decided to get the twins something nice to wear for the party too. I didn’t want to come back to shop again.

After that, I stopped by the jewelry section and picked up a simple but elegant gift for Derick’s parents. I wasn’t close to them, but I wanted to at least be respectful.

“Mommy, are we done?” Lyra asked, tugging on my dress.

“Almost, sweetheart.” I smiled and grabbed a few more small items before heading to the food court.

The kids were bouncing with excitement when they saw the ice cream counter. I ordered a small cup for each of them and watched as they devoured it, giggling and making a mess.

By the time the movie ended and we walked out, it was already dark outside. My heart skipped a beat when I saw the time.

“Come on, kids,” I said quickly, grabbing their hands. “We need to go home.”

They nodded obediently, sensing my urgency. I hurried to the car, helped them in, and fastened their seatbelts. The moment I turned on the engine, I drove off, my heart pounding.

The roads were almost empty, and I pressed on the gas, anxious to get back before things got worse. I could already imagine Derick pacing around the living room, worried or, worse, angry.

It didn’t take long before the pack house came into view. As soon as we arrived, I parked and asked the guards to help carry the bags inside.

One of the guards by the entrance bowed slightly. “Alpha and his parents are already having dinner, Luna. They waited for you.”
