I was still trying to make sense of what I just read when Derick’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
“Who gave you this dream flower, Raven?” he asked, his voice sharp and filled with anger.
I turned to face him, my heart racing, my mind spinning as I tried to find words to explain something I didn’t even understand myself.
The dream flower rested in my trembling hand, its soft purple petals glowing faintly under the sun light.
I could see the confusion and anger in Derick’s eyes as he stood there waiting for my answer.
“I don’t know,” I said softly, almost in a whisper.
Derick’s jaw tightened. “You don’t know?” he repeated, taking a step closer. “Flowers like these don’t just appear out of nowhere, Raven. Someone must have given it to you.”
“I swear, I don’t have any idea who sent it,” I said again, my voice shaking.”
He turned toward the maid standing nervously at the corner of the room. “Who dropped this flower?”
The maid lowered her head, avoiding his piercing gaze. “Alpha, I–I don’t know. I just saw it there when I came to clean. No one knows who dropped it.”
Derick’s eyes hardened. “So you mean to tell me a stranger came in here, left this flower, and none of you saw anything?”
The maid’s hands began to shake. “I’m sorry, Alpha. I really don’t know.”
“Leave us,” he said coldly.
The maid quickly bowed and rushed out, closing the door quietly behind her. The silence that followed was heavy, filled with tension and unspoken fear.
“Reven,” Derick said after a moment, his voice low but firm. “Come with me.”
I nodded silently and followed him from behind. My feet felt heavy as we walked down the hall toward his room. I could sense the storm brewing in his mind, even though he tried to hide it. When we got there, he walked straight to the bed and sat down, running a hand through his hair before looking up at me.
“Now tell me, Raven,” he said, his tone softer but still edged with frustration. “Who gave you those flowers? I won’t hit you, and I won’t make a scene. Just tell me the truth.”
I swallowed hard, fighting the lump in my throat. “Derick, I really don’t know. I wish I did. I’m just as confused as you are. I don’t even know what’s happening.”
He shook his head, letting out a heavy sigh. “That doesn’t sound like an answer.”

I moved closer to him, my eyes pleading. “Please, trust me. I can’t cheat on you, Derick. I have no reason to do that. You’ve been there for me through everything. Why would I betray you now?”
He looked at me for a long moment, searching my face as if trying to find even a hint of dishonesty. Then finally, his expression softened. “I believe you,” he said quietly, “but this shouldn’t happen again. I don’t like surprises that make me question the people I care about.”
I nodded quickly and gave him a tight hug, feeling his warmth and steady heartbeat calm my racing thoughts.
Thank you for trusting me,” I whispered against his chest.
He said nothing, only rested his hand on my back, holding me close for a while before letting go. I pulled back slowly, forcing a small smile before walking out of his room.
When I got to mine, I leaned against the door for a second, closing my eyes. My chest felt heavy. The fear of losing Derick had nearly crushed me. I didn’t even know where the flower came from, yet it almost destroyed everything we had.
I walked into the bathroom and turned on the shower. The sound of the running water filled the room, soothing my thoughts a little. I sat down on the cold tiles, letting the warm water fall on my skin as I replayed everything that happened.
Who could it be? Who would send such a flower? The dream flower wasn’t just a normal one it was rare and known to carry a strong scent that could stir emotions, sometimes even memories. Only people with power or deep connections to witchcraft could get it.
But why me? And why now?
My thoughts tangled like threads in my mind. Was someone trying to ruin my relationship with Derick? Or was it something deeper something from my past that I wasn’t aware of?
I hugged my knees close to my chest and took a deep breath. I could still hear Derick’s voice echoing in my head, the way his tone had softened when he said he believed me. I didn’t want to lose that trust. I couldn’t.
I tilted my head up, letting the water wash away my tears. “I’ll find out who did this,” I whispered to myself. “Whoever wants to destroy what we have will
regret it.”
Then I heard my wolf’s voice inside me–calm but serious.
Be careful, Raven.
“I know,” I replied quietly.
No, you don’t, she said again. You’re angry, and anger makes you careless. Whoever sent that flower is not just playing games. They know what they’re doing.
