Roxanne followed Zachary for a meal. She got into his car after leaving the hospital, with the large bouquet of fresh flowers cradled in her arms. The smile on her small and beautiful face was even more radiant than the flowers.

It so happened that Sebastian had just returned to the hospital with Liana. They witnessed the entire scene as they sat in the car. They had actually already left, but Liana suddenly remembered that she had forgotten her handbag in the hospital.

Liana had explained to Sebastian that the paper stars she folded for Miles were in the handbag, but the truth was, she didn't care about the paper stars at all. She wanted to go back to hurt Roxanne once more.

Roxanne had nearly driven her to the brink of insanity, so Liana refused to let it slide. She wanted to bring Sebastian back to the hospital to hurt Roxanne.

She didn't expect to come across such a pleasant surprise. Liana pursed her lips and fixed a disbelieving expression on her face. "Sebastian, wasn't that Roxanne who just got into the man's car? Didn't you say you were going to pick her up? Why did she—"

Liana's words died on her tongue when she noticed the hardened look on Sebastian's face. The air around them had suddenly turned frigid. Confusion swirled in her eyes as if she had discovered an earth-shattering secret. However, her message had been delivered.

Sebastian had only called Roxanne not too long ago to inform her that he was unable to pick her up. How had she managed to find someone else to pick her up in such a short amount of time? Either she had planned it ahead of time or she had immediately looked for someone else.

No matter what the reason was, the scene was something that Sebastian was unwilling to witness. He was a proud and haughty man, and Roxanne was his fiancée. His strong possessive streak would not allow her to smile at another man.

Sebastian also recognized the owner of the car. When Roxanne was taken away to the police station previously, the same man had appeared to bail her out. It was Zachary Quinn.

Sebastian was quiet as he grabbed his phone and called Roxanne. His expression was so grim that it was frightening.

Meanwhile, in the car, Roxanne had been happily chatting with Zachary when her phone started ringing in her pocket. She glanced at the screen and noticed that it was Sebastian calling. She picked up and said, "Hello."

"Didn't Sebastian leave with Liana to visit Miles' grave? Why is he calling me?" she wondered.

"Are you done with your IV drips?"

Roxanne cut the call immediately after her rant. Truthfully, she could make an educated guess as to why Sebastian sounded the way he did. Most of Valoria was under Sebastian's powerful authority. Even the hospital belonged to the Hayes family.

She could guess why Sebastian had sounded so icy over the phone.

It was likely that someone had reported to Sebastian that Roxanne and Zachary were together. Maybe they had even sent a photo of them together. It was why she intentionally gaslit Sebastian.

She manipulated him into thinking that it was all his fault. He was the one who broke their promise first. Roxanne would spend her time with whoever she wanted, and there was nothing Sebastian could do about it.

Zachary offered a piece of candy to Roxanne. "Eat this."

Roxanne accepted it with a smile before saying, "I'm not a child. Why are you offering me candy?"
