Mending a Broken Love (Roxanne and Sebastian) novel Chapter 133

Ever since Sebastian woke up at Jimmy's private psychological clinic in Valoria, he had remained under continuous treatment. According to Jimmy's evaluations, Sebastian's cognitive state was stable. His responses were clear and precise just like a normal person.

That sudden episode seemed like nothing but a strange hallucination. He was exactly the same Sebastian as before—calm and composed. He was still the prodigy of the Hayes family.

Sebastian continued to have Cayden search for Roxanne, refusing to give up. On the surface, his emotions appeared stable. He looked fine and completely in control.

But only Lucy noticed something off.

In the week since Roxanne had disappeared, Sebastian would come home every night and lock himself in her room. He wouldn't step out until the next morning, fully dressed and ready to go to work. He stuck to a rigid routine—work, home, repeat.

To anyone else, there was nothing unusual about him. But that wasn't true.

He was like a machine, running on a pre-programmed loop. It was as if someone had drained all the emotion from him, leaving behind nothing but a shell.

Lucy sighed inwardly.

That day, while Sebastian was in a meeting, he left his phone on the desk in his office. After the meeting ended, he returned with his usual expressionless calm and reviewed the minutes meticulously.

Once he was done, he finally picked up his phone, ready to text Cayden for the daily update on Roxanne. That was when he noticed a message from Jensen. He sent the update request to Cayden first, then opened the message from Jensen.

The moment he saw the photo Jensen had attached—a photo of True Love's Heart—his calm, expressionless eyes stirred with a tidal wave of fury.

He suddenly stood up and strode across the room toward the floor-to-ceiling window. He pulled out his phone again to call Jensen.

His face was strikingly handsome, and he appeared outwardly calm, but the hand pressed against the window had turned slightly pale. It betrayed the storm brewing beneath the surface.

Jensen picked up almost immediately.

True Love's Heart was certainly precious, but it wasn't worth that much. The market price of the diamond was around a hundred million dollars. Since the diamond held special significance to the Hayes family, it was understandable that Jensen would ask for an additional hundred million dollars.

But Sebastian had just offered one billion dollars.

Jensen wasn't about to turn down free money. This was like picking up cash off the ground. It felt so good.

Sebastian's voice came through. "Now tell me, where did you buy the ring?"

"I bought it in the capital of Hyvaland. When I bought the ring, the seller said it had just been acquired. He didn't reveal any information about the original owner. But anyone who could steal your ring and sell it overseas has surely taken the money and run."

To Jensen, this ring was a family heirloom of the Hayes family. If it had been given away, no one would have dared to sell it. Even if someone was in desperate need of money, they could easily take the ring to the Hayes family to get it.

But the ring had ended up in an auction house in a foreign country.
