Mending a Broken Love (Roxanne and Sebastian) novel Chapter 139

The train quickly passed by, disappearing into the distance in a hurry.

Roxanne watched the man, who looked remarkably like Miles, vanish into the crowd. She leaned against the door, her head spinning.

She felt as though her soul had been sucked out of her body. Noticing her state, Carolyn nudged her shoulder and waved her hand in front of Roxanne's face.

"Don't tell me you saw a ghost," Carolyn teased. "It's broad daylight. How could you have seen a ghost?"

Roxanne gave her a weak smile. "Yeah, how could I have seen a ghost in broad daylight?"

But in her mind, she couldn't shake the thought. "Unless… it wasn't a ghost."

Her mind was in complete turmoil. It had only been a glance, but she was certain. That face was unmistakably Miles'. She remembered the mole on his forehead, which was very distinct. Roxanne felt as though she had been hit by a heavy blow.

A shocking realization started to form in her mind—Miles wasn't dead.

She thought, "What a twist! Miles isn't dead!"

For a moment, a wave of intense anger surged through Roxanne's chest.

Miles had faked his death. It was a brilliant move. He had manipulated everything, pushing Liana onto the throne and making her the center of Sebastian's attention.

Her life had been a mess because of them. But as the anger swelled inside her, it slowly started to dissipate. She realized her troubles hadn't been because of Liana but Sebastian himself. Even without Liana, there would have been someone else…

All her pain and struggles had come from Sebastian.

Taking a deep, steady breath, she tried to let go of it. It was over. She had left Sebastian, and there was no need to keep dwelling on the past. It wouldn't do anything but disrupt her life.

However, she suddenly felt a surge of curiosity.

Yasmin had been invited by Mason to attend an opera, and Jensen was standing on Mason's other side. His voice wasn't too loud but still audible. Sebastian was a name that stood out, and Yasmin heard it clearly.

Once Jensen hung up the phone, Yasmin asked, "Sebastian? Is it the same Sebastian from the Hayes family?"

Jensen smiled lightly. "Yes, that's him."

Being considerate, Yasmin said, "I heard you're meeting with him. Maybe I should head back? You two probably need to talk business, and I don't want to disturb you."

However, Mason spoke up. "No need."

Jensen explained, "You won't be interrupting. We won't be discussing business. Sebastian is coming to meet me to pick something up."

Yasmin's curiosity piqued. "Pick something up? But I don't see anything on you two."
