"Thank you," Roxanne said as she continued playing her game.

She was so close to victory!

Sebastian's cool voice resounded from beside her, and he sounded amused. "Aren't you going to open it and take a look?"

"Huh?"

What was Sebastian talking about? He wanted her to open the rose? Was something wrong with him?

"You open it!" Roxanne exclaimed, keeping her attention concentrated on the game.

Although Sebastian looked calm, he was actually quite nervous. It was his first time proposing, after all, but Roxanne didn't seem to care. Her flippant behavior actually worked in his favor, making him less anxious about the whole thing.

When he had been on the hunt for the engagement ring, Sebastian had also looked up the other things he needed to prepare for the proposal. It was common practice for the man to get onto one knee while presenting the ring to his partner.

Sebastian wasn't going to kneel down as he was still carrying around some past trauma. He also wasn't going to propose in front of a crowd as his pride wouldn't allow it. Sebastian opened the intricate ring box. A massive ten-carat, heart-shaped diamond ring was pillowed inside.

Sebastian offered it to Roxanne. "Do you like it?"

Roxanne pretended to look at whatever Sebastian was showing her. Her eyes were still glued to the game, so she didn't see the ring. Uncaringly, she mumbled, "Yeah, I like it. I like it a lot."

Sebastian's eyes curved into crescents. "Since you've accepted my proposal, let's decide on a date to get our marriage certificate."

"When you complained about the scam call starting off by telling you that he had picked up your marriage certificate. Wasn't that your way of hinting to me that you want to get married?"

Roxanne swallowed before giving Sebastian a thumbs-up. "I salute you, Sebastian! I can't believe you managed to pick up on my hint even though it was so subtle."

It was indeed ridiculous that the scam call had started off by informing Roxanne they had picked up her marriage certificate. But it was even more ridiculous that Sebastian had assumed her complaints meant that she wanted him to propose to her.

Roxanne couldn't understand how Sebastian had arrived at that conclusion when he was so smart. He was the one who had passed the phone to her, and she had received the scam call almost immediately after she turned on the device.

How could she have planned the scam call ahead of time to send him a hint? It was ridiculous!
