Weston nodded and handed her a piece of paper, "Ms. Josefina, this is the document Miss Lauren wants you to sign. They're hoping once you accept this money, the matter will be dropped."
Josefina agreed without hesitation, "I agree."
Ruby interjected with a hint of discontent, "Josefina, after all, my parents raised you..."
Josefina cut her off sharply, "Ruby, the orphanage raised you for eighteen years too. After you went back to the Antonio family, why didn't you donate a dime to the orphanage?"
Ruby fell silent, without a response.
Josefina continued, pressing the point, "I'm here to talk about the settlement, not to listen to your lectures. How about applying your moral standards to yourself first before you expect others to live up to them? 'Do not do unto others what you don't want done unto you', you familiar with that?"
Ruby was left speechless, and Josefina, with a stroke of her pen, signed her name on the document. "I've signed. Give me the money, and I'll hand over this pledge to you."
Billy, wincing at the thought of parting with the cash, pulled out a bank card and handed it to Josefina, "The funds are all in there."
The bank card was provided by Josefina herself. She instructed Billy to transfer the money onto it, and he had no choice but to comply.
After confirming that a whopping ten million was indeed in the account, Josefina passed the pledge to Billy. "This settles everything. Don't bother me in the future, and don't come looking for me. If I find out you're up to any more tricks behind my back, it won't be as simple as another ten million in compensation."
Josefina stood up to leave, her departure marked by a blend of grace and arrogance, leaving Billy and Lauren stunned. The Josefina they once knew never had this demeanor in their presence.
Lauren cursed under her breath, fuming, "With that ten million, she's really made it big. It's infuriating."
Billy sighed, lamenting the loss, "Ah, there goes ten million just like that."
Weston chimed in, trying to put things in perspective, "Mr. Antonio, ten million isn't that much. You do realize this is Anya's design we are talking about."
Lauren scoffed at the idea, "Is ten million not much? With that amount, she won't have to worry for the rest of her life."
