Grant's voice cut through the air like a knife, "No way! You're not welcome here, and I sure as hell don't need you tagging along!"
Oliver rolled his eyes, not missing a beat. "I was talking to Josie, not you. Zip it."
The room plunged into awkward silence.
Josefina couldn't help but let out a laugh, her tears mingling with her amusement. Was Oliver seriously mimicking Grant's tone?
Grant was at a loss, stunned by Oliver's audacity and thick skin.
Meanwhile, Hayden munched on popcorn, thoroughly enjoying the drama.
"Alright, enough. Let's all head out together," Hayden finally chimed in, putting an end to the bickering.
With Hayden stepping in, Grant's objections were silenced.
So, the four of them set out to sea.
...
That day on the water was a unique experience for Josefina, feeling caught between a rock and a hard place.
Grant dove into the water to catch some giant crabs, knowing how much Josefina loved them. He presented them to her like prized jewels, basking in her praise.
Not to be outdone, Oliver also went after some seafood. The two men competed fiercely, while Hayden watched, his eyes nearly popping out of his head.
"Josie, I can't believe you snagged Hellfire himself," Hayden said, shaking his head.
A blush crept over Josefina's cheeks as she confessed, "When I first met him, I had no idea he was Hellfire. He's got a whole different life back in Westwood. Guess it's all about fate."
Hayden warned, "Josie, you gotta be careful. Being Hellfire isn't straightforward, and the guy's got enemies galore. If the wrong people find out you're his girl, you'll be in the crosshairs too."
Josefina, however, seemed unfazed. "Master, I've got my fair share of enemies too. Oliver, being my boyfriend, is bound to face dangers alongside me. We're cut from the same cloth."
It was precisely this reason that made Josefina fearless.
Both Oliver and Grant, resurfacing from the water, heard Josefina's unwavering stance. Grant's eyes were filled with disappointment.
Oliver, on the other hand, grinned like he’d just won the lottery.
