The help didn't quite catch on to what Guy was getting at, wondering what harm there could be in giving Mr. Oliver a hand.
Guy glanced over at the bunch of single folks and laid it out bluntly, "You all don't have a significant other, so how could you possibly get Mr. Oliver's vibe? Unlike me, I'm married, so I've got a better read on this stuff than you guys."
The crew exchanged puzzled looks, still not getting Guy's point.
Guy rolled his eyes and spelled it out, "If Ms. Josefina is there holding onto Mr. Oliver, do you really think he needs you guys butting in? You'd just be third wheels!"
Light bulbs went off over their heads, and they collectively gave Guy a thumbs-up.
"Guy, you hit the nail on the head. Glad I didn't barge in."
Guy tipped his head back, brimming with pride.
"Just remember one thing, guys. When Ms. Josefina's around, you back off. Don't go messing up their moment."
Nods all around, they all agreed with Guy.
...
Josefina supported Oliver, guiding him into his house.
Oliver collapsed onto the couch, his arm hooking around Josefina, pulling her down into his embrace.
Josefina was startled, instinctively grabbing at anything to keep from falling.
Her hand caught Oliver's shirtfront, yanking hard enough to pop a button.
Josefina's cheek pressed against Oliver's solid chest, sharing an intimate moment.
Flustered, Josefina scrambled to get up.
Oh boy, talk about bashful!
Josefina sat up, her heart racing, the recent close encounter replaying in her mind. She shook her head, trying to clear it.
"Oliver, I'll get the help to look after you. I need to head home."
As Josefina stood to leave, Oliver caught her hand, pulling her back, and once more, she ended up against his exposed chest.
Josefina was in shock!
Another close encounter had her cheeks turning as red and tempting as a ripe apple.
