Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess novel Chapter 467

Josie had been tending to her grandmother with the utmost care, making sure she got a thorough check-up. After being bedridden for so long, Grandma Emily mentioned that a bit of sunlight could work wonders.

"It's summer now, my dear," Grandma Emily said with a warm smile, her eyes crinkling with affection as she watched over Josie. "A ten-minute bask in the morning sun, before nine, can be quite revitalizing for the body."

Emily's voice was filled with concern as she spoke, "Josie, I've been talking to your granddad. My sweet girl, you've been through so much."

"Don't worry about me, Grandma," Josie reassured her, "Now that I'm home, surrounded by so much love, all those hard times seem like nothing."

Every time Emily looked at her granddaughter, her heart swelled with pride. She slipped a pair of exquisite jade bracelets onto Josie's wrists—a token of her deep affection.

Josie tried to pull back, feeling undeserving, but her grandmother insisted, "Please accept them, darling. It would break my heart if you didn't. It's just a small token of my love for you."

With such heartfelt words, Josie could no longer refuse. "Thank you, Grandma," she said softly.

"No need for thanks, dear. It's I who should be grateful," Emily replied. "Your granddad mentioned that if it hadn't been for your return, I might never have come out of that dark place."

At that moment, Grandpa Robert strolled in with a platter of vibrant fruit, his laughter filling the room. "You're both being too polite. At this rate, we'll be thanking each other until the cows come home! Josie, have some fruit."

"Thanks, Grandpa," Josie said, taking a slice of watermelon. The refreshing sweetness was perfect for a hot summer’s day.

"Remember, Grandma, your health needs to be nurtured back slowly. A light diet for the next few days should do the trick," Josie reminded her.

After a little more conversation, Grandpa Robert escorted Josie outside where they could talk alone.
