"Josie, you hit the nail on the head. I won't breathe a word of this to your mother just yet. I'll wait until I've got hard evidence before I bring her into the loop. As for the birthday present, let's shelve the idea of those expensive shares for now."

"Dad, when you have a moment, give Grandpa a heads-up. If Grandma thinks of anything, she should tell you first, and then you can fill me in. We can't risk spooking the culprit. After we step out, we need to treat everyone just like before. Even the servants can't be underestimated. Let's start the investigation with them—after all, the person who pushed Grandma down the stairs might just be one of the Harrisons' own staff."

Garrett nodded, "Josie, you're thinking straight. I'll let your Grandpa know right away."

"I'll head downstairs first to update everyone on Grandma."

Hattie said, "Well, as long as she's awake, that's what matters. The fact that Grandma's opened her eyes is a blessing."
